[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

When I mentioned that this was a metropolitan service within a city, they all stopped Hmmm - Tom im pretty sure that Mt Barker is not within Metropolitan Adelaide However this is of no surprise - penny pinching policies - no future vision. It should be a fast train and should be going to Stirling, H...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

SA Government puts this into too hard basket because they wanted to remove freight trains through Belair but the Federal Government did not come to the party for providing funds to move freight trains north of the city, which would have allowed double stacking and other efficiencies. Whilst i do thi...

Obviously the Adelaide hotel market was not something they are desperate to move into - hope it still happens would be nice addition to skyline However it was previously noted that the Wyndham Grand Hotel on King William Street would be the first in Australia - well that didnt turn out to be true ht...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

whatchu talking about, the annual budget of the two universities is around $1.6 billion annually combined, of course its about the dollars, and the best outcomes possible for students and taxpayers. Best outcome for students? who you kidding! Currently 2 different universities - same course can hav...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

Treating education as a BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY is totally wrong. We need to ensure our kids are being educated and to a world class (or at least a decent standard) rather than worrying about how many international students the university can lure or how many research dollars the unit can lure. Does no...

[PRO] Re: Fmr Franklin Street Bus Station | Tapangka | Mixed-Use Precinct

A focus to build to rent and affordable housing in inner metro and central business district would certainly liven the place up leading to more growth, tourism etc. With this and the central markets and victoria tower - Grote St could look quite different in a few years. I think the government shoul...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

[ Then again the way our state politics runs, it could drag out to the 2030 election and a blame game of who let the diesel trains reach the end of life without a solution. Agreed, and then the most likely outcome then will be to just close Grange spur.and Belair..and bung some wires along OH line ...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Our previous and current government look interested in delaying this project as long as possible in the hope that in future that roads will be replaced by green space, housing and that roads wont need to be built or maintained allowing them to have even greater perks and golden handshake. They must ...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

This whole process has just shown how Governments bending over backwards to minority and NIMBY groups ends up biting the state taxpayer and average resident in the a.. They delayed the process to investigate options including the tunnels, during which time allowed business to be built right up to so...

Who knows how many years we may all need to wait for this mess to be finally finished. Going by labors budget infrastructure projects in especially NON EASTERN STATES is not exactly priority - MUCH MORE IMPORTANT to them is WINNING A FEW VOTES FROM YOUNG FAMILIIES, PENSIONERS etc because the GENERAL...

Oh dear we go again - too height, too short, too skinny, too fat blah blah. This group of NIMBY's should migrate out of Adelaide and let us get on with things. From what i could see the proposed tower whilst tall is not crazy limits, also it has a reasonable podium level that seems to integrate well...

Looks like unfinished business - money probably ran out. Missing a western grand stand (where court 1 is) and smaller eastern grand stand in-front of the courtside room and corporate boxes (where court 3 is) This should be a centre court only with court 2 and 3 moved to outside courts at memorial dr...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

The eastern grandstand looks nicer outside than in - on the inside nothing more than a corporate box. They could have at least had some standard spectator seating as well as some corporate boxes. The western grandstand is shown in the proposal pictures - is this supposed to be some temporary stand? ...
