Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
Some people regard all speed limits are unnecessary. It's clear that the people who understand these things have decided there is sufficient reason to change it. They say it will improve safety and reduce crashes, based on modelling and reviews. I guess time will tell if the crash rate changes. I d...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)
The Premier also brought up the Tarrkarri site (not by name), but did say a lot of work was going on behind the scenes to make sure they got that building right. He wanted it to be of global significance and worth telling friends about and getting on a plane for. There was an article on ABC News On...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling
Looks good and hopefully only the first stage to a longer upgrade as you suggest.
I’m not sure if the concrete channel is required for flood management but I’d love if more of both Keswick and Sturt creeks could be naturalised or at least semi-naturalised with gabion walls.

its clear it can cope with one lane each way Apart from access to the Wilson car park that is. I saw that creating relatively long queues on several occasions during those works. @whatstheirnamesmom - Do you remember if the right turn lanes for people accessing the car park from the south are being...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling
This is actual construction, which is meant to be beginning today. Bike SA and Bike Adelaide have been reporting this. I viewed the tender documents a few months ago, I assume not too much has changed in the final design. From Rundle St to North Tce we'll see a copy/paste of the bikeway as it exist...

Glad to see that kerb inlets for rain seem to be becoming standard. Also pleased to see a variety of tree species — too many councils having been planting a monoculture of Callery pears.

Update for Grenfell St as at 6/1/2024 showing recent work on new upper levels . Judging from the picture in this link (which is paywalled so I can't read it), the RAA will be moving into this building: https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=AAWEB_WRE170_MG_a&dest=https%3A%2...

The supports closest Tower 1 will be redundant now as Tower 2 is supposedly confined east of the parliament balcony to 'preserve views'.

Re: Cedar Woods Glenside
Honestly, things are so bad out there that if someone's proposing to build decent housing I'm inclined to let them. That said, 20-storeys seems something of an ambit claim given the area does not have the amenity or transport options of the CBD. Not only that, but the Minister does not have the god ...
