[U/C] [U/C] Re: [U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

I don't see the issue - it is bloody hard to argue with 100k+ at MCG for the marquee game. What never gets mentioned in this (endless) debate is the real economic activity the AFL has generated. Ignoring 2020, we have ended up with a $500M stadium, and a weekly game with 40k+ people in the city. Sa...

Didn’t the Adelaidian developer try and purchase the building on the corner and was turned down, some years back when they first purchased the land for their development? I can inderstand their frustration. It may sound juvenile but had Adelaidian turned out to be quality, I would sympathise more. ...

Unlike Citywatcher's whacky reality, Adelaide is not a utopia and squatters do inhabit empty buildings. If you don't believe me, there are literally squatters in the squatters arms and that isnt even in the CBD. It'd be worse in the CBD. I'd rather this be put on hold and waited out like they did 2...

Bullshit It's just an empty building The old Planet site for example has been empty for about 20 years Care to enlighten us about this anti social behaviour that has occurred around such buildings. When a place is well secured and or very hard to enter there shouldn't be any issues. I would assume ...

What is anti-social behaviour? Cheers Yes I feel so much better now. I can see how it is relevant in a development forum [emoji849] Sent from my SM-J730G using Tapatalk It’s relevant because if the building sits undeveloped and empty, it increases the likelihood of antisocial behaviour occurring th...

I'm pretty neutral re: the design for this one - I don't think its terrible, but certainty nothing overly special. If it has been cancelled though, it means another prominent historical building in the heart of Adelaide potentially sitting empty indefinitely - which is definitely not a good outcome...

Medium to large organisations prefer large floorplates, so there will always be a tendency to go low and clumpy in Adelaide. Residential buildings are the opposite - they need to be as narrow as possible to allow sufficient light penetration into as many rooms as possible. I like tallies like every...
