Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I don't have an issue with the privatisation, lets see how it works out for commuters and if it saves the govt money, then the savings can be put toward new infrastructure.

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker
I am surprised this hasn't drawn more comment from the learned members .. opinions? I think its a shame the plan has been kyboshed. One would hope it hasn't fallen victim to politics (the libs have never been overly keen on PT). On the other hand , our discussions have indicated the line ball "...

In terms of bang for buck , assuming the cost estimates are accurate - I would hope Infrastructure Australia would rate this project highly. 35M is chicken feed compared to some road projects floating around. Lets hope this proposal receives some attention.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
#5481 Post by Simmos083 » Mon Nov 29, 2021 8:13 pm This motorway is needed to get our state moving with freight and cars which is critical for any city. It encourages cars to use it which is what we need. We do not need to waste our money on stupid bike lines for people who think for one minute the...

Agree that we need a concert hall, but this design is arrogant and disrespectful to the Festival Centre.

As long as there is no more taxpayer dollars involved , I couldn't give a tinkers cuss what they do to to Oval, any charm it previously had is long gone.

[VIS] Re: Business SA Proposed River Torrens Natural Pool
I think the goal should be to improve the river as a whole rather than what amounts to an outdoor pool. What happened to the city beach proposal , wetlands etc Pinky Flat? There seem to be initiatives to clean it up, but I really can't see much progress. As with any river the problem is multi-jurisd...

What is the business case for spending 10 billion on the remaining stretch of road, other than saving users 10 minutes of travel time, what are the other benefits? Was there a business case ever presented? I can't seem to find one. Some sources point to a business case mid this year . The more I con...

Whilst underwhelming, 203 North Terrace has an almost brutalist quality about it.
It's not a complete disgrace by any means.
And yes I like the other building posted previously too.
At least they are not stale glass clad towers.

Agree with the sentiment here, very good points raised yes for Wingard to say its not viable without conducting any analysis or study is a crock!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Hi All, In light of the issues with commute times to Mount Barker via the freeway and the extension discussions on this thread concerning the resurrection of the train to Stirling and Mount Barker. Does anyone know how long this journey used to take before scrapped? And if improved rolling stock can...

I really, really hope there will be greenery, especially considering the report recently that due to climate change Australian cities will be rendered unlivable in 50 years. The paving looks f%@king terrible by the way. I hate being this negative nancy, but we really should expect and demand more.

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
They are clearly morons, or incompetent. I wonder if they knew at the time they built the new roof, that little over 12 months after, they would be demolishing the stands? Surely, the project would have a better result with a complete re-design? The mind boggles. Between our State Government and the...
