[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

does anyone know how the repair works are progressing where the land slide occurred after the heavy rain? I've driven through a couple of times but I try to focus on the road ahead rather than examining the walls on either side of me.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

If the viaduct is chosen for section between Edwardstown and Tonsley only the Daws Road point will need an interchange I think. The service road at ground level will see a lot less traffic so congestion won't be an issue. completely agree, daws rd to tonsley isn't far when the motorway is separated...

I can't recall if it was you CDJ or another forum member who mentioned a few months ago about there being some sort of work being done behind the scenes about lifting the airspace restrictions? Hi Shuz - yes there is a lot going on in the background. This activity is at a higher level than some mig...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

my guess would he that tunneling is too problematic, if they don't want to acquire all the land back then an elevated road may be the only option. :2cents:

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The only concrete progress - of any form - made on the next section of the project is the vague announcement by Knoll a while back about a review of compulsory acquisition laws. This is probably the reservation behind plans not being made in detail then subsequently also not being released to the p...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

the 'we're looking at tunnel options' is just another token line to keep the masses at bay a little longer while they work out what to say next. I'd rather they just be honest and say sorry there are no future plans because it's too expensive and we can't afford it so the section between tonsley and...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

In July this year the Govt minister, Mr Speirs said planning was in its very early stages for the upgrade's stretch from Darlington to the River Torrens, and, with three models being considered, "two of them included a lot of tunnelling". "If tunnelling were the option, that would see a lot less bu...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

u guys are a lot smarter than I am and are more knowledgeable than me on this project but if i read between the lines it seems as if there isn't a plan for the remaining sections. they've probably all sat down and said okay plan a) an elevated road?? no too expensive, ok what about a tunnel? no that...
