The purpose of this is two fold: 1) To create a sense of "infinity" where the building disappears into the clouds and becomes reflective at height. 2) To create "drama" on the lower floors as the building will reflect light differently depending on the time of day. That's beauti...

Prospect Rd is a high street approaching a similar level to The Parade or Unley Rd, and with an increasing number of apartment developments along it. This. Big yes to Prospect Road. It is increasingly becoming a destination. This must be enhanced and encouraged - but with cycling and light rail, no...

I dont think it does at all. I think the contrast allows the original facade to stand out and distance itself from the new. That's what gets my goat really. Looks stuck on. I mean, at least the facade was retained. It had to be. But yeah.... wish there was a better way of incorporating it. The rest...

It's interesting how the animations have been put together for political purposes. The Anzac Highway animation shows the cars stopped on both the now removed off-ramp to Anzac Highway and along Anzac Highway itself. I guess it could be called political but on the other hand if they are just illustr...

The problem marked "Motorists have limited time and distance to change lanes into and out of the motorway" (in the video below) would have been a disaster imo - it looks like a nightmare blackspot waiting to happen. Glad they fixed it! https://youtu.be/EEJskxsWVB8?t=202 Even in the animati...

“The ratio between the dark and light areas of the sculpture is based on the hypothesis that dark matter and dark energy make up 95% of the universe, leaving only 5% of ‘normal matter’ visible. The demolition for the one on the south-eastern corner of Hurtle Square is about to start, residents have been letterboxed with a start date 1st August. I think it's the 7 level one They’ve just lodged two more applications for the two sites south of this one. A 12 level and 7 level. No doubt no gro...

From this morning. It's offending me less as more of the fins go on but it's still a meh overall.

Thank goodness the windows line up, unlike the southern facade as someone mentioned earlier!

Not sure it's my place to start a new thread but I was wondering what people think of this - definitely deep into the "VIS" category! I am really keen to see a new concert hall and I love the talk about it being "more than just a concert hall." https://indaily.com.au/inreview/de...

Thanks Ben that's much appreciated - When I looked at the approval on the portal I couldn't see any documents attached - I was keen to see the floorplans etc

I've been looking for the planning application for the south-east corner of Hurtle Square (I think addresses currently there are 62-72 Hurtle Sq).

I think it's building five. Is anyone able to locate it? A search on the application register hasn't turned anything up for me.

I feel more sorry for the ones on the other side of York who won't be moving! That is going to be a very noisy area for a long time
