The camera looks east - you can see John Martin’s (now DJ’s) and on the right Regent Arcade. Probably taken winter 1977 judging by the green looking hills and the mall’s young tre...

Steel metal piling cages were delivered to the site today so expect piling to start any day now.

Also, local businesses were notified of changes to the road out the front, plus hoarding will be going up on the 16th March.

Two large containers were dropped into the beer garden at the end of December, and they have been packing up gear.
Now there is an auction for a bunch of stuff from the restaurant. https://www.mgs.net.au/auction/viewauction.html?a=8476

Is there any new news about plans for the development?

The front of the existing building is now covered in scaffold and demolition is underway at the rear of the building.

If they don't own it, why would they build on it? Totally understand that, but then it was being sold off by the receiver with committed sa...

So is this actually the failed U2 site, or maybe both the red brick building plus the U2 site?

Adelaide City Council is also apparently a bit "special" when it comes to the requirements for pedestrian access & protection compared to locations interstate.

The biggest threat to development in the CBD from the change of government will come from the ACC complaining about no longer having control over assessing developments and the new government deciding to listen to them and hand back control.

Won't change any existing approved developments.

Does anyone know what the covering product is on the side of the carpark? Is it is steel mesh ?

I am wondering what the colouring will be like going forward. Will is discolour like a corten steel look ?
