Re: The Age- Australians heading o/s: is our country too boring?

I like what Ben Folds said when he was asked by a Sydney radio station why he was going to live in Adelaide (when he did) He said "Adelaide is to Australia what Australia is to the rest of the world"

Re: Adelaide United Thread

Also does any one follow Italian football? *clears throat* Ahem I say, It's a good thing that the World Cup and the Olympics are not on at the same time. That way the Italians can make good use of their divers. 8) Sounds like a few unhealed wounds! I hear ya, I was there trying not to cry to...

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup

Lowy outlines bid plans Australia's prospects of winning the hosting rights for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup finals rely on the bid team convincing the FIFA executive that the country offers the best financial return for world football's governing body. Speaking in Melbourne on Wednesday, Football Fe...

Re: Footy waiting on Mike

Conviniently the Government seems to have forgotten the - wait for it - railyards site! And Santos Stadium too. That's a Government-owned asset. Wonder why that's been left off the radar? They fixing up the track at Santos now, all they need to do is fix up the rest of the place and it would worth ...

Re: Article: Adelaide prices will increase by 23%

The 'housing crisis' is only because people in their 20's expect to get the latest and greatest straight up. You have to start with a house like that of what Wayno said, or buy in a less desirable area to start with and then go up from there. I'm going to sound hypocritical because i am 22 but youn...

Re: Article: Adelaide prices will increase by 23%

Its a total rip off and its not like those prices ae going anywhere soon you'd be...

Re: Article: Adelaide prices will increase by 23%

He said Adelaide's affordability made it a hot destination for interstate and overseas investors $400,000 for a one bedroom apartment is a joke. You don't have to spend $400k on a one bedroom apartment, one mate picked up a one bedroom city apartment for under 200k, another picked up a three level ...

Re: Article: Adelaide prices will increase by 23%

Got a link? At the risk of sounding like i made the whole thing up i'm going to say i can't remember where i read about the index. But i think its just taking things like big wars and finanical meltdowns into account which happen every 50 or so years. So in the end things should level out, sure hou...

Re: Article: Adelaide prices will increase by 23%

Not sure why people will think the sky is about to fall out in the property market.. 23% increase over three years isn't a massive jump, if you go by the general rule that house prices double every 7 years (well it's more like 10 these days) then that sounds about right. And while the GFC had affec...
