Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Have we heard boo from infrastructure SA? Aren't they looking at all of this? I wonder how much is tied up in the potential commonwealth games bid, we will get Feds cash for that. They have a website here: https://infrastructure.sa.gov.au/ This reminds me of an episode of Utopia. I see globelink is...

Apparently they are working on a 20 year strategy to be released early 2020 Oh great, another one. Can't wait for that!...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

So do we have limitations to having express trains from Gawler/Noarlunga or at least limited stops?

I would have thought getting travel times well below car would be a great advantage to have?

Also, wouldn't have express/limited stop tie into moving buses to interchange with the trains?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

"...forced to hop..." is presumably not intended to just test the balance of commuters. Those of us who live in outer suburbs and use public transport to get to the city often already use two modes of transport - car or bus to a railway station and then a train in to the city. I live one side of th...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

A rumour circulating during the week suggests that Adelaide will likely go ahead and bid for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. As the host city will be decided in September this year by the committee, and Adelaide is the preferred candidate already, we have to assume there is now a real chance of being ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The state Libs have never wanted the trams, and would rather cancel them in favour of the 'trackless tram' brain fart if they could, so there won't be any more tram extensions until the next state labor government, unless the story about them being forced to build the North Adelaide extension by a ...

I also worked for a contractor that put there business into liquidation and continued on under another ABN. Not only can they save money in superannuation by doing this, they can also avoid their GST obligations. The irony of this situation is that a contractor could potentially save $100,000 by do...

So that's both major parties committing the same amount of money. Now it's up to the engineers to come up with the solutions on which option should be taken. Exciting times! The Federal Libs have now promised a total of 2.7b and Federal Labor only 1.2b. The State Libs will match the 2.7b with a loa...
