Re: News & Discussion: Trams

How would peak hour traffic work down Unley Rd, Goody Rd or The Parade with fewer lanes for traffic when the majority of the journeys start from other areas? The ideal outcome is a tram service and infrastructure would simultaneously encourage changes in travel behaviour and force driving to become...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

To be honest, the Truro bypass funding cut is probably saving us from another short sighted upgrade

The North South corridor really has become a vaccum though hasn't it.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Comparing its debt levels to ours is in that way doesn't really tell us much.

They are multiple times bigger than us in pretty much every economic way.

Mind you they have a lot of debt!

[COM] Re: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

This wasn't approved by the council, it was approved by the state govt.

From what the people I know in the council have said, they are very disappointed by the outcome

[COM] Re: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

I have to admit, it's impressive how much they've spent to make something look so average.

What a disappointing and underwhelming outcome.

This development seals the Parade as the best strip outside the CBD.

Just need that tram

I assume this goes here. Looks like a reasonable bypass.

Shame it doesn't look 4 lanes is under consideration (and link it to the 4 lanes outside Nuri )

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

So genuine question. But the $90m earmarked for Port dock extension (yes I'm against it, it's pork barrelling at its finest and with no real business case for it, alternatives should be assesed) Surely that money would be better spend trying to get rail to this development and the surrounding areas?...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Given that the shops in that carpark are now empty I agree.

I've always wondered what the cost would be to reroute the exit down Stephens Lane to have that glorified carpark exit utilised differently

It's a safe Labor seat, no pork barrelling going on. Being a Safe seat doesn't make it not Pork barrelling, but I can call it a rort if you want? Unless of course we have some sort of independent review of the project that shows us the merit of the development of course, then play on. I just find i...

I think it's more about the catalyst it will provide to the continued rejuvenation of the Port as opposed to whether it stacks up from solely a rail point of view. I'll certainly visit more - getting to the Port via public transport is a to pain at the moment. Why is the Port more important than ot...

I still find it incredible that this is deemed by this Govt as worthwhile rail infrastructure above all the other options.

Re: SA Economy

A bit of a nothing article really, we already know our growth rate has been below the national average for several decades now. The sobering fact from it though the $29 billion dollar figure, which means the S.A economy would be around 25% larger than it is currently. That's the problem, oh we all ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I agree that Norwood is the most obvious and best choice However I'd do prospect first, show the benefits and especially the improvements to both traffic and property value (which was one of the most absurd arguments last time) Then go in with an actual plan to address traffic around the Parade onc...
