Re: Krispy Kreme donuts in Adelaide
I know these arent Krispy Kreme donuts but another global sweet chain store is about to open up in the Adelaide CBD called, "Beard Papa Sweets". Don't know much about them or where in the city, except for the fact that they claim to make the Worlds best Cream Puffs and in Australia their ...

Re: Hindley Street closed 10pm-6am?
ok is it meant to be closed to car traffic? if so, that sounds like great news, in fact Hindly street needs to be completly closed to traffic like rundle mall cause those footpaths can get very crowded during peak hour with so many people rushing to the railway station :P or does it mean that the S...

Re: Development on Westend railyards
I think the 1 billion it would take to construct a new ground would be better spent on the new hospital, the RAH is disgraceful - and this is coming not from me, but people who work there. We have an untapped resource in the city for sport - the Adelaide Oval. Interestingly enough my brother works ...

[COM] Re: #Completed : Adelaide Airport
i am pretty sure that i heard a while back that the Adl runway isn't capable of handling fully loaded 747's .. and that's even after the extension some years back!! not sure if this is true and not sure how much runway the A380's need in comparison to the 747's .. they really should have built Tapl...

Re: Food Thread
For a fairly authentic Chinese meal I would recommended: Rice Chinese Restaurant (on Glen Osmond Road) The food there is good and the prices are very reasonable. The service isn't the best but the food more than makes up for it :D Starhouse Restaurant (on Gouger Street) A fairly new restaurant which...

Re: Ideas on how to attract more people to SA?
I was in a taxi a couple of weeks ago, and the ~40yo pommy driver told about his recent permanent visa drama's. Not sure if he was exagerating or not, but it took him approx 2 years to get it processed, and cost many thousands of pounds. He had to split his family (leaving his 2 teenage sons in eng...

Re: Adelaide to lose last CBD cinema complex
Such a shame that the CBD doesn't have a single cinema complex anymore. Luckily, with the closure of this particular branch, we can build a true cinema complex in a much better location (the Harris Scarfe development would be perfect for this IMHO) With the ever increasing number of international st...

Re: Ideas on how to attract more people to SA?
Thousands of Irish are coming to Oz! and jobs are the key to attracting people... Unfortunately, even jobs won't keep you in Oz apparently. In the past couple of months, I know of 2 foreign workers (one a Canadian and one a Pom) who have had to return to their respective countries because of visa p...

Re: How often do you visit the Adelaide CBD?
I work in the CBD now and it certainly is a big change from working in the suburbs. The vibrancy you get in the CBD with the "hordes" of people moving around is not something you can experience in the suburbs :D I come to the city during the weekends as well so I pretty much visit the CBD ...

Where is the best place to get sushi in town? (takeaway), sushi is great if your in a rush and its cheap Genki sushi (I think its called) in the David Jones Food Hall at Rundle Mall is pretty good.
