Why not control peak flows entering the roundabout with traffic signals, and let the roundabout operate as normal at other times. The intersection of Old Belair & Blythewood is an example of this. Otherwise just bring on the tunnels....

If it interests anyone, I asked Haighs. This was the reply.

"The neon sign hasn’t worked for over 30 years and we are hopeful of either restoring or replacing it with a replica in time for our Centenary in 2015."

Looking forward to that. Should look great!

What they should do is make Hindley and Rundle Streets into a 24/7 pedestrian mall for the entire 1 mile length. The Hindley Street project is a great improvement, and hopefully will form part of a stage-by-stage basis towards realising the vision of the abovementioned; a mile-long pedestrian mall....

Haighs neon sign.

There is a large "Haighs Chocolates" neon sign on their Rundle/King William store.
If it is operational I haven't noticed it.
Does anyone remember it operating? Would love to see it brighten up that corner at night.
