Question time. Is this going to be the best development this city has ever seen?
Answer time. No.
Why not, which is better?
Have you ever heard of Adelaide oval ?

In terms of iconic buildings, the Sofitel Hotel on Currie street is going to be a lot better than this.

Surprising they’ve gone with synergy after the massive delays at Grey street but they’re obviously happy with the result. Mate, Synergy might be a dodgy operator, but these student buildings are constructed on a tight budget. If they're cheaper than the other builders then they will most likey get ...

Re: Deregulation of Shop Trading Hours

Here's something to think about. I have been told Coles will not be opening many of their stores on Easter Monday. The workers must take that day off as annual leave or time in lieu. So these workers have a choice of losing pay for a public holiday and a day of their annual leave or they can choose...

The Anzac Highway Median strip is an utter disgrace. It's ironic that they have irrigation installed but then
it never gets turned on.

Which level is the core up to ?

They're going to have to work miracles to get it finished by the end of the year.

Re: The Federal Politics Thread

I also worked for a contractor that put there business into liquidation and continued on under another ABN. Not only can they save money in superannuation by doing this, they can also avoid their GST obligations. The irony of this situation is that a contractor could potentially save $100,000 by doi...

Re: Mad March 2019

On the topic of Victoria square, this weekend the opera 'Carmen' will be on there. It's a joke that the tour down under and the state opera can use Victoria square but then the Fringe or RCC can't. There's a big difference between a weekend event and something lasting weeks on end. Brother, it took...

Re: Mad March 2019

Interesting that 200000 have attended Yabarra. Of all the great things about the festival, this wasn't one of them. I thought the display was most underwhelming, and some of the inflatable displays downright tacky. People wandering around on the bank seemed to be a bit lost, bored or bewildered. I ...

Re: Mad March 2019

Adelaide Fringe has smashed its box office record with an impressive 825,000 tickets sold, a 17 per cent increase on last year – the biggest boost in recent years. Organisers say the diversity and accessibility of this year’s program of 1326 events – along with great weather, a rising number of vis...

Re: Mad March 2019

As long as passengers hop in my taxi, its good This is a good point. Not only do the festivals bring life to the city they also generate a good income for cab drivers, hospitality workers, security guards, etc. What amazes me is how the city can be so vibrant for these four weeks but then the vibra...
