Re: 2019 Footy Express

The thing is, if you want to pick a time to make PT free, it should be when there are light loads and lots of spare capacity. Between say 10 am and 2 pm on weekdays, there is lots of excess capacity in the system. This is because buses that are scheduled for the morning/afternoon peak are also driv...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Just noticed this article from the 'Tiser Liberals accused of delays over promised Marion Rd tramline fix On the eve of the 2016 Federal Election, Malcolm Turnbull and Nicolle Flint promised a $2 million study to fix Marin Rd near the tramline. But the report is still months away. Proposed fixes to...

Buckland Park has been given a three-year extension.

Seriously. Just can it already.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

the issue for me is that there are no costings or final designs put forward for the remaining 'too hard basket' sections. Darlington should be finished by the end of this year but I wouldn't be surprised if its early next year if we have a really wet winter. northern connector is on track for compl...

I'm probably using the wrong term here but i thought of the Superway as a kinda "proof of concept" should other parts of south road go elevated.
Correct - essentially a trial run for the stretch to go through Edwardstown, where land uses are comparable to the Superway stretch.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

It's been there since at least 1989 that I know of. Anyway, they didn't close when Coles opened directly across the other side of the mall so I don't think they'll close because a Foodland is opening. Not in its current configuration where it is now. It trades well, so I too don't think it's becaus...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Don't quote me on this, but I heard a rumour from someone who works at Wooldworths that because of this new Foodland, they won't be renewing their lease in the mall at the end of this year (or next year) whenever it is up for renewal. This would fall in line with comments made about the Wooldworths...

I want to know how Tony Abbott in 2014 made a commitment that South Road Motorway will be finished in 10 years (2024). Then there is no forward planning on it, to ensure it can occur. Knew it was too good to be true at the time.
That was a dinosaur career politician speaking.

Classy Lucas turning it into a blame game. They've been in government over a year now; where are their business cases? Also, this totally contradicts Rod Hook's explanation of how these 'business cases' aren't entirely needed. Infrastructure Australia was intended to remove politics from the decisio...
