Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

It would be wise to: - Reserve land for a rail corridor - Or, even wiser, halt all further development and rip up the nasty, cheap contract with Walker Corp. Agreed. The issue is that they did not reserve land for a rail corridor, and they are now building on top of all the land that could have bee...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

A nice comment by a reader on the InDaily article: Commenting on the story: Designs released for new Bowden housing development It is very encouraging to see this proposal for development in Bowden. While the building exceeds the height limit established in the Renewal SA masterplan, it does deliver...

I actually agree with the refusal. Scale, setbacks and design aesthetic are actually all quite poor. Not all development is good development. Back to the drawing board from me.
I am the same. I would be happy if this was 30+ storeys, but the ground level activation and scale was minimal at best.

so the traffic has nothing to do with record immigration and nor does the housing crisis

rightio...its just a right wing conspiracy then

back to sleep
Increasing traffic has everything to do with planning decisions by pro-car governments. It is not connected to migration increases.

Great idea, great location right near the edge of the city, nice use of the old hotel. Watch the Walkerville Council blow this to pieces. I knew SOMEBODY would bugger this up, at least... Just about the only thing they did not have an issue with was the overall height/number of levels! It seems to ...

I know this isnt technically part of the North-South Motorway but it seems like its T2D Branded Raglan and Edward Street Realignment has been released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOzpm1JyKyY So a dogleg is removed, but a new signalised intersection will replace it at Price Street. So there wil...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Will be great for the area, but this still gets to me: I hear ya! it's annoying that they have blinkers on and believe retail is all about food & coffee. I see they have tried to remedy the inability to locate a chemist in the area by offering free delivery from 2 nearby chemists. I guess that ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

It puzzles me that the focus is to (re-)extend rail to Concordia because the government has "released for housing" some land there. There are several hundred hectares of land on the northern end of the current suburbs (south of Gawler) that were released for housing by the Rann government...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The AFL Store on King William Street (where a chemist was) has unknowingly shut its doors again after just six years. (It first opened next to Southern Cross Arcade in the mid 2000s but closed in the early 2010s) I feel very bad for the people who have to consume petrol and their own time trekking ...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Will be great for the area, but this still gets to me: But planning consultants Future Urban, on behalf of Sentinel, argued the small-scale retail offering was “appropriate” because the complex is located next to Plant 4. They also said the retail tenancy will “still offer an additional service to t...
