Re: North-South Corridor
Slightly off topic i know (and its probably been discussed before) but what is SA's obsession with building UNDERPASSES along South Road as opposed to OVERPASSES. I spent about 20 minutes this morning at the Emerson Overpass (South/Cross Roads waiting for train after train) and was thinking that ove...

Re: $1.7 billion injection for SA roads
So effectively its only $1.2 Billion for SA considering the Libs at the last election announced this funding for the Northern Expressway. Typical politics, announce the same funding 100 times. They might get that fuzzy feeling 100 times but I only got it once when it was originally announced.

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
Yeah i understand that the tram overpass is next but this will be completed around the same time as the Gallipoli Underpass. I am more referring to major roadworks.

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
Hi Guys, probably the wrong thread for this but after the Gallipoli Underpass is completed sometime later this year, does anyone know what they have planned next. I know that there are plans to build a tunnel under port/grange roads and also an underpass under Sturt Road, but are these definates or ...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
STATE Opposition Leader Martin Hamilton-Smith's plans for a new city stadium seem redundant. While the plans for the city stadium on Riverside West seem redundant (let it be known right here and now that I am not objecting to the SANFL shifting to AO and having AFL matches played there 8) ), the wh...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
What Paul wrote above. I'd vote for any party who put together a decent proposal for the city's west that doesn't involve a new hospital. Those who think this proposal would only work if there was a stadium should have a read of this. http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
I fail to see how a hospital will not bring people into an area. All major hospitals seem to have people coming and going almost around the clock, and that includes staff, and students as well as patients and visitors. These people alone (well, not the patients..) create a need for other services -...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
He has stated on many occasions that by building in the west end railyards (e.g the Marj) will lead to increased development in the north western corner of the CBD and also along the riverbank (he stated cafes/restaurants and a hotel). You Know im not against a stadium in the city, just not on Nth ...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
imagine what the flow on effects would be from a riverbank precinct like that of what MHS has proposed! Great!! So built it and they will come you reckon. In planning terms thats just about the worst thing you can do. Your basically making a $700 Million bet. How can you rely on this? You need to p...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
Well waz, how did I know you were going to pipe up? I think you will find that the SANFL and AFL would jump ship very quickly to use this new stadium. . Why would the SANFL go from a sole ownership to a partnership, doesnt make much sence unless you are given a crap load of incentives which is exac...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
Just wondering what this stadium will be used for. SANFL hold both Port and Crow licences and its already said it wont support a new stadium, a telsra dome style stadium is no good for soccer, thats why their building a purpose built stadium in Melbourne. Looks like the Adelaide uni footy team will...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
WOW, WOW and WOW. Whilst the details are sure to change over the next few years, this is exactly what the CBD west end and more importantly Adelaide needs. This parcel of land is extremely rare nowadays and too precious to waste on a development (i.e new hospital) that will only be utilised by a min...

Re: City's new festive hub planned
This debacle just gets worse and worse. A federation style square precinct should be in a spot where it easily accessible. The "old RAH" is nice but has limited public transport and is tucked away in the north eastern corner of the CBD. What the heck is wrong with Victoria Square? Or even ...

[COM] Re: #PRO: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b
This is an embarassment for the RANN government. Expect the Libs to run with this one for the next few days.
I wonder if the Mike RANN Memorial Hospital as a name had been touted.
