Grade separations only benefit trains if it allows for higher frequency running. If you're not doing that, then yes, it's a road project.

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

LOL, and now Knoll is claiming they're not for the Port Dock project, but for Rail Revitalisation and projects like the Brighton Rd and Torrens Rd level crossings. That's why they're all lined up next to the Port Dock project.

Something definitely stinks. The railway museum had their connection to the line cut less than two weeks ago, and concrete sleepers for the spur are already lined up ready to be installed. This wasn't a project still in planning. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D9jFWRWUwAAbI_Q?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 ...

I'm pretty sure the is the budget site opposite Adelaidean.
Yep. It'll have to be a very very skinny 16 storey building. The site is only 7.87m wide.

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling

While we're bitching about horse riders, what's the deal with horse shit on paths? There are regulations around cleaning up after your dog, with fines for failure to do so, but seems horses can plaster a road or shared path with impunity? The police horses are particularly bad with that in Bonython ...

"I don't think in five to 10 years time we're going to be building light rail networks. For reference, this was the original masterplan from 2012 with significantly more water.

About time they got a move on the wetland, but it does look as though it's significantly scaled back from what was originally in the Victoria Park masterplan from years and years ago. https://content.api.news/v3/images/bin/64970d4cae48b89e6932422635295599 https://content.api.news/v3/images/bin/a3a03...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

So a private professional sports team that makes multi-million dollar profits, is given parklands, more money, and a community facility. Fuck this shit.

Separate to the above, Burger Theory on Union Street will close this month. Not sure what'll happen to the Flinders Uni site, but the East End closing was probably a foregone conclusion once Betty's Burgers opened (following on from Grill'd and a less-than-popular menu change by BT). Shame the inte...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Tim Ross was doing some shows in the foyer of the Marine & Harbours Building, and last night Starfish were giving people a brief tour of the 7th floor before the show. Having been abandoned for 20-odd years, it's in surprisingly very good condition — relatively low levels of graffiti and no visible ...

They are taking the piss at a clearly out of touch politician.

I mean the UN, what a complete knob of a bloke.
Taking the piss? They’re a newspaper, not fucking Mad Magazine.
