Re: Mad March 2019

[...] I think there is a seriously strong argument to make for Rundle Street becoming a one way street at this point to vastly increase the amount of outside space for eateries. From Frome Road to East Tce I say make it a one lane one way street and try and bring more year long liveliness to the ar...

Having more people living in the city will do wonders for the vibrancy of our city. It has already been improving year on year, the streets and laneways are getting more and more active as apartments are completed.
A little bit of Europe...

Trick of the camera?
It's called the moiré effect.

Hopefully these stairwells will be lit. If some colour were to be added they would make a nice effect at night.

Here too several times every year. These numbers should really be foreigners coming and going. They are the ones we want to see more of. We make up the numbers. Anyhow let's get this number growing upwards so more international carriers will think of Adelaide.

[...] When announced, the original proposal was at 115m, with the potential to go as high at 150m under the right circumstances (the renders show it at the full 150m height). This is not out of the question if the developers and hotel group want it to happen, and knowing the Singaporeans they would...

Re: PRO: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

Noticed yesterday (21 FEB) surveyors marking the floor of the mall with spray cans. I guess they were marking where the utilities and conduits are located. Could this be a prelude to site works before demolition?

1957. It was also previously known as the Beacon Building, due to the weather beacon that used to be on the top of it, and I believe it has the distinction of being Australia's first fully air-conditioned "skyscraper" (it was as tall as buildings were allowed to be in Adelaide in 1955, when buildin...

Apparently this is called “Spence on light” now but I can’t find any new renders or info. Yeah "Spence" a shitload less money on the design Named after Catherine Helen Spence I would assume. The social political reformer portrayed on the five dollar note. There’s a statue of her in Light Square. Ch...

Woods Bagot director Thomas Masullo highlighted that the building's design was intentionally restrained to complement the existing streetscape and nearby heritage buildings. Don’t see how this tower complements the existing buildings. Perhaps up to the podium, but it looks bland. The tower section ...

The current Government should so build this , North Terrace, West Terrace, South Terrace, Hutt Street
Not Hutt Street and South Terrace. The loop should go down Pulteney Street or Frome Street then Angas, Gouger, Morphett Streets, then Currie Street, West and North Terrace.
