Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Looks like Singapore Airlines is making those three extra weekly flights permanent from October 2024. The article doesn't say permanent. If SIA were serious about SQ276/SQ277 they would continue after January 22, 2024 or at the very least start these extra flights in June in time for the northern s...

No evidence to suggest 'planned' electrification of the OH/Grange lines, but basically the Belair line can't be electrified due to the low tunnel ceiling.
Can't they lower the floor in the tunnels?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Isn't switching to a 777 a bit of a step backwards? From a passenger comfort perspective, yes. I guess from number of seats, no. Well it's arbitrary. It all depends on the quality of the seats, if you can block out the noise from the 777's mighty engines and survive the cabin pressure/humidity leve...

This site, or group of sites fronting Currie, Gilbert and Peel Streets has just come on the market. Haven't seen a site this large in the centre of Adelaide since 60 King William Street (the former Southern Cross Arcade) changed hands. https://www.realcommercial.com.au/for-sale/property-20-22-curri...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

That multi-million-dollar footbridge in Dock One at Port Adelaide needs to have a drawbridge like you see in many canals in the Netherlands where yachts can fit through. Otherwise Dock One will become redundant. I hope the developers and Nick Champion realise this. My :2cents: worth.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Looking at the seatguru site, the big difference seems to be the Singapore Air B787's don't have premium economy, whereas the A350s flying in and out of Adelaide currently do (well they did in May). They're probably anticipating weaker demand for discretionary spending like premium economy in the c...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Is there much of a difference between Singapore Airlines setups on both aircraft other then the tight squeeze for economy class? The dreamliners were very much hyped if memory serves me.. I think the passenger to toilet ratio is slightly better on the A350. Happy to be corrected though. You are cor...
