Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Anyone with updated photos of the Terminal 1 extension? In the meantime here are a couple of grab shots from the Terminal Expansion Update, December 2019. https://i.postimg.cc/c1bQTXwB/ADL-Terminal-1-Expansion-1-2019-12.png https://i.postimg.cc/KYxL4Vhx/ADL-Terminal-1-Expansion-2-2019-12.png Also he...

[APP] Re: PRO: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

Anyone have the plans (a link) for this development now that it has been approved?

Cheers

P.S. Anyone know whether some of the trees to be removed can be replanted. I'm referring to the plane trees.

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

[...] So people don't even care the trip has taken three hours or even notice any rough seas as everybody is having so much fun! That looks more like a pontoon than a real seafaring yacht. Wouldn't want to bring it here in our waters. Those having fun would end up with the sharks. https://i.postimg...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

Another important issue, mentioned before, is the pollution caused by ship exhausts. Especially bad on calm days. The pier or harbour needs to have shore power to ships so the fumes can be either cut down to a manageable and safe level or eliminated completely. With ships cutting engines after docki...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

Is the Patawalonga Channel comparably deep/wide/close/calm to do something similar at Glenelg? Corio Bay opening from Port Philip Bay looks more sheltered than Holdfast Bay off of Gulf St Vincent. I don't know how sheltered the waters need to be for a cruise ship to tie up. Cruise season is not wil...

[VIS] Re: 181 Waymouth Street | ~60m | 17 Levels | Apartments

Looks like the design has changed a fair bit...looks average imo Actually the two rounded winged-roofs would've made this development more dated. Something out of Flash Gordon. Now it will look more like all the other apartments, so if it dates all the others will too. Cheers P.S. Nathan had ...

Has this been proposed/approved?
It's "in the pipeline" so probably still in the planning stage. It looks like approximately 85 metres in height.

If they could reclad the Intercontinental then it would really be a pretty view. Dreams are free aye.
Off topic but yes the stone facades of many Adelaide buildings make them look heavy. Lightweight non-flammable panels would do the trick.

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

I can verify those sitting on the western side of the northern stand were getting baked on Sunday afternoon/evening. Also, spectators in the Aperol bar area on the eastern side were looking directly into the sun for quite a while. Probably not an ideal situation. Yes I noticed this on the TV covera...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Went to last night's session, and was surprised at how little protection the roof actually provides spectators from the elements, especially on the western end of the old stands. The roof needed to be a tad wider to provide maximum protection. [...] Although I haven't been down there, what I can ga...

Thanks d3v310per for the pic of centre court. I experienced the heat on this court many times when taking pics as a photojournalist. One time if I remember correctly it was shy of 40C in the shade but up and probably over 55C on the court. I had to cover my head and lens with a towel. A slightly dam...

Rotterdam and the view of the Nieuwe Maas (New Maas) river, the cruise terminal and a group of modern buildings on the Wilhelminapier. Taken in October 2017, but more interesting towers have been added since. On the left is the Erasmusbrug (Erasmus Bridge). https://i.postimg.cc/xdgpDCh1/Rotterdam-Wi...
