Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

[...] Part of the "showing age" comment also refers to the pedigree of the aircraft. The B777 was developed in the mid 90's with very minor upgrades / enhancements since (pending 777X). It is also much noisier than other aircraft. Very true the pedigree. I've never been too fussed about the noise i...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

IMO Emirates are highly overrated, they’re really just the greyhound buses of the sky. I’d fly Singapore or even Qantas over them any day. I do hope Qantas launch more international services direct from Adelaide at some point. The A320neo will be a very interesting proposition for connecting cities...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I was on EK441 / EK440 very recently. To say that both flights were half full would be generous. Not surprised about rumours of dropping back from daily. In addition, the B777's used on this flight are showing their age. Will go with Qatar or Singapore A350 next time. You should be happy if the fli...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Emirates will be reducing their service from daily to 5 weekly between 11 Nov and 20 Nov. Don't have the days as yet. Perhaps Stefan may help us.

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I still don't understand why those plane trees that fronted North Terrace had to go. Was it bothering them during demolition? I hope they've planted new ones somewhere else to make up. Also thinking that this will be a dust bowl this summer. Let's hope we don't get strong hot northerly winds that wi...

Re: Beer Garden

I wont comment too much on Adelaide Oval, except to say that it's a dog breakfast both it's exterior and the surrounding area. Three different stands, of three different heights, ridiculous. And when we finally get a northern stand I wouldn't be surprised if that too was of a different height. Mayb...

Re: Beer Garden

So, based on your logic Adelaide Oval should be twice the capacity it is today? In 1965 over 62K turned up for a football match at AO when the population was 700K, or in 1976 over 66K turned up for a football match at FP West Lakes when the population was 930,000. I should rephrase that - only 66K ...

Re: Riverside Precinct

Take a look at my new vision for the Riverside precinct! I can see you've taken two of my ideas. The bus terminal west of the Morphett Street Bridge and an access road from War Memorial Drive at the weir to the NRAH. In my vision it's a bus interchange, where people can move from trains to buses an...

From Yesterday Great photo, where was that taken from? I love the bronze reflections in the glass and some of it is visible through the gold facade panels which makes interesting contrasts and then the dark gray glass on the other half that is angled slightly differently. I guess it was taken from ...

Yes it was a pity Apollo Square was never built in 1970 .It would have been Adelaide's first 40 story office building (taller then any of the current proposed tall buildings). it was to be located at 60 king William st where that fake old building is at the entrance to city cross. Wow Any pics anyw...

Re: Disneyland Adelaide

Have you seen this topic: Should Adelaide bid for a theme park...'a la' Disneyland etc.?

Doubt very much AAL would rid itself of Parafield Airport. Of course if you came offering a huge amount of money for them to move and rebuild then perhaps.
