This is the building in question. Even if spruced up, I don’t think it’s all that appealing. https://www.flickr.com/photos/dct66/4507457048/ You think so? A spruce up would improve it for sure. Would be nice if they incorporated it into the final design. This development is in such a prime location...

[U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

They are advertising an opening special on their website $199 per night from 1 Oct for 4 months. So does that mean any major sports side/country are now unlikely to be coming here to play/stay in that time (if the public are free to book it out)? Fully booked out no way. However it will be interest...

Believe the last concrete floor pour was done today.
So we only have the roof left on top on this slab which is above the eight floors of balconied apartments. That should be the final height.

Look at the Xmas lights in the Northern Hemisphere which we can't do here until after 9pm when shopping is all over and done. Let's hope th...

Here's a mockup of the Southern Cross Arcade development I did from a screen grab of Aerometrix Adelaide Building Development Activity July 2020. The height is an approximation. I used the 69 metre Commonwealth Bank Building and the 63 metre Extrastaff House as a reference. Enjoy... https://i.postim...

Bullshit It's just an empty building The old Planet site for example has been empty for about 20 years Care to enlighten us about this anti social behaviour that has occurred around such buildings. When a place is well secured and or very hard to enter there shouldn't be any issues. I would assume ...

Re: Should the O-Bahn be converted to light rail?

The biggest problem right now for the O-Bahn is that the traffic lights in the city do not sense buses. It's a shame that the O-Bahn tunnel gets built, all for the buses to wait for a minute at the traffic lights at the entrance to Grenfell Street. The tunnel should have never been built. That mone...

Re: Should the O-Bahn be converted to light rail?

I am wondering about the future of the O-Bahn? Does the track have to be renewed at some time in the near future? Would this be an opportunity to convert to light rail? Light rail yes. Heavy rail no. Do the bridges along the O-Bahn track need to be raised if light rail was built? No. You can lower ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

In a few years time SA will be the only mainland state without trains going through its CBD. Adelaide will never have an efficient rail system without one. With the completion of the Gawler electrification next year this will now be possible. The sooner the better I would think. Adelaide is already...

A nice looking building, but it is another missed opportunity for an iconic tower on a large alotment in a prime location. :( Probably more disappointing than the Planet site in Pirie Street. My :2cents:

if you really want to see something rare check out this Adelaide rail map from 1974 .it still shows the line through Woodville north to North Arm Rd .
