Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Business class was certainly refurbished. Cant say the same for economy.

Part of the "showing age" comment also refers to the pedigree of the aircraft. The B777 was developed in the mid 90's with very minor upgrades / enhancements since (pending 777X). It is also much noisier than other aircraft.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I was on EK441 / EK440 very recently. To say that both flights were half full would be generous. Not surprised about rumours of dropping back from daily.
In addition, the B777's used on this flight are showing their age. Will go with Qatar or Singapore A350 next time.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Fiji Airways offered terrible connections through Nadi. They were essentially trying to enforce a stopover when most people want to get to their destination as soon as possible. Jetstar flew ADL - AKL once upon a time. Again it failed because of the poor timings and not connecting to QF coded onward...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Good info. Thanks for posting.

The other stats that would be interesting to know are the load factors out of Adelaide.

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

This whole thing reminds me of an argument happening in many households: And old piece of clothing sits in the wardrobe doing nothing for "x" amount of years because the owner either refuses to throw out or believes that it will come back into fashion. The partner is cleaning out the wardrobe, comes...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Or maybe we could remain in the same state of procrastination due to a debate over a shed. Central Port Adelaide character remains. These sections of Glanville and Birkenhead remain fenced off and uninspiring. What happens when residential development ultimately drives out Adelaide Brighton Cement? ...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Im not sure a sawtooth shed is in the same league as your suggestions, but ok, whatever floats your boat. Keep the shed or demolish it. I dont care. For me, it has no significant impact on the Port other than potentially blocking development of a site that has looked like the same desolate wasteland...

Mods - this is becoming a little off topic and more about parklands overall, if wish to move to the pub, happy to continue conversation over there.

JAKJ, I'm sure there are many that agree with your comments, however, I'm not one of them. We all dont have to agree on these issues and robust debate should be encouraged. Its important that each side present sound, rational arguments to fully express why they feel a certain way without being pigeo...

This is the problem, entitled people right now that would sell their grandchild's soul if it gave them an extra buck now. If you don't get a fancy park now, future generations don't get a fancy park? Why is there an automatic assumption that by doing something now will ruin it for future generation...
