Re: The SA Politics Thread

Premier Steven Marshall has spent $244,000 of tax payers money on travel, $97,378 of which was for travel around Australia. Primary Industries and Regional Development Minister Tim Whetstone $39,152 for an 11 day trip to Israel. Apparently they've only racked up half a million dollars in travel at t...

During that time, they are SA residents working in SA, and various laws would require them to have SA drivers licenses and electoral enrolments. I think that makes them "South Australians". What laws would those be exactly? Why would they need South Australian drivers licenses? You can vote at any ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I have just received an e-mail from Adelaide Airport to say they have finally fixed the webcam. I have checked it out and it is now working correctly-finally. With a refresh of the image very minute, what's the point? Its 2019, put up a proper camera that live streams. Might that have privacy or se...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The screens they've put up around the Torrens/South Road intersection/bridge and so on.. why couldn't they have had them powder-coated in the same colour as the brown poles that they screwed them on to instead of plain old silver? Would have looked much better as opposed to the after thought they lo...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Found this in a magazine I picked up from World Routes, adds something to the "where next" conversation! I'm not sure what the reason is for quite different layout of the two graphs. Combining them into a single sorted list looks like it becomes: Delhi Ho Chi Minh City Launceston Phuket Tokyo Chris...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

The first Glenelg Jetty was 381 metres long with a T-head and wooden lighthouse. This section was destroyed by fire in 1873. In 1906 a three-storey pavilion was added at the end of the jetty and railway tracks were laid along its length to service coastal shipping. The aquarium was built in 1929, s...

[APP] Re: 203 North Terrace | 109m | 33 levels | Student Accom

There is a chance this won't get built. The student tower next to Adelaidean has stalled. The Twin Street tower was proposed and approved ages ago and there's been no action since. The only project I can think of that is going up that is specifically student accommodation is the one on Waymouth Str...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

lol Adelaide and damn grass :P

How deep is the water at the end of the jetty? Had a look at the ships coming in this cruise season, up to around 8~m draught at most.
Extend a new more solid 'pier' further out then the current jetty, slap a tram line on it?

Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

Im bored. Was thinking with talk about a ferry at Glenelg coming up again why dont they go further and build a cruise ship terminal too. Much better location for it then outer harbor, better first impression of Adelaide for tourists. Turn the Glenelg jetty into a proper pier. Ferries on one side, cr...

Can only think to maybe stop any potential rock throwing? The screens to stop rock throwing around the Grange road intersection are already installed and are pretty...industrial. Those brown poles at Port, Grange and Torrens Road intersections with the surface road...they're getting canopies put ov...

I believe that's why the LMW has been closed during nights while they work on installing them.

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

That ferris wheel will be as successful as the one they had at the beach house.

So this ship is going to be restored, and remain on land? Why not restore it so it can be back in the water, like the old ship in front of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre?
