Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

With talk of grade seperation at Westbourne Park, should Hawthorn be reopened in exchange for closing Unley Park? It'd be a good opportunity to move Unley Park station north of crossroad, where the larger population lives (in comparison to Hawthorn which it's in). It would also then be in the subur...

[PRO] Re: Goodwood/Springbank/Daws Road Intersection

Driving past this morning I saw a 7-9AM bus lane sign near the Grandview Drive junction (citybound). I don't think the lanes are going to be wide enough to accommodate a bike lane as well on the citybound side. Should be plenty of room on the southbound side though unless they're going to try to squ...

[PRO] Re: Goodwood/Springbank/Daws Road Intersection

Has anyone else noticed the really long city bound bike lane. It starts in the middle of the Daws Road intersection and ends at the Springbank Road one. There wont be room for it to extend beyond Daws Road since they wont be moving the kerb. The only cycle lane will be southbound which is why I assu...

The update doesn't seem to mention the Tonsley rail extension.

Re: Whyalla | Developments & News

If the jobs are there for it, the population growth may not be fanciful. With this expansion though, let's hope a public transport system is also planned for. A tram system might be a good solution for a moderately sized city like that. Also, planning for a good rail connection to Adelaide should be...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Maybe there should be a proposal to remove the traffic lights. If they weren't there, traffic wouldn't bank up causing a bottleneck. There could be a serious argument to be had on whether it should be relocated a little, perhaps closer to Gawler Place, on the other side of the Telstra Building. I ha...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Contemporary Art Gallery - Designs on Page 6

It still worries me to hear the combination of a contemporary & aboriginal art gallery. If the aboriginal displays are to be genuine artworks and not artifacts from the museum's collection, then I've no problem. I'm concerned the government will think that a contemporary art gallery is an appropriat...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

If you're going to build a tunnel up there why not make it longer and more direct, starting it before Port Road. There could also then be a new underground Albert Park station near Tapleys Hill Road. We should be trying to remove as many level crossings as possible in the metro area and allow the tr...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Contemporary Art Gallery - Designs on Page 6

I just really hope we don't end up with a facility that tries to be both. I think it would be disrespectful to put archaeological aboriginal artifacts and modern art in the same facility. In London, you wouldn't visit the British Museum to look at modern art and you wouldn't visit the Tate Modern to...

[U/C] Re: Renaissance Arcade | 132m | 40 Levels | Realm Apartments

I assume it's done that way because it is easier and more cost effective to use the equipment needed for the boundaries to do these as well. Only filling the holes to a certain level would also be a safety issue for anyone on site. This also appears to be occurring in areas of the Darlington Upgrade...

Re: 2018 South Australian State Election

Corey Wingard had campaigned prior to the previous election on the grade separation of the Oaklands crossing. Not sure if he brought it up this time, I'm no longer in his electorate. After Labor announced their plans for it, I'm not sure what the Libs position is. Other than that I don't recall seei...

Re: 2018 South Australian State Election

I believe the Libs also promised to move year 7 from Primary school to High school to match the rest of the country. Not sure if they'll follow through on it as they would have to spend significant funds on building new classrooms in nearly every High school in the state. Then again, there would be ...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Maybe there could be a way to get the freight line to run parallel with Brown Hill Creek from Mitcham station to Mount Lofty station. 3 or 4 tunnels may be required to do so, so maybe the Premier could talk to Elon Musk about getting the Boring Company involved. A new passenger line could be run wit...

Re: Rename a suburb

Rename Morphett Vale so that it no longer sounds like Morphettville. Area between South, Bains, States & Wheatsheaf Roads could be Thrushgrove. Area by South, Wheatsheaf, States and Doctors Roads could be Wirreanda. I think using the old railway stations in the area for names could work. The area b...

It does look good. Another to add would be the Calvary Hospital on the corner of Angus & Pulteney.
