[COM] Re: Tailem Bend Motor Sport complex

I hope us plebs can have a crack at the full length GT circuit from time to time, although all of the configurations described will be better than what we currently have at Mallala.

Re: Adelaide Motorsport Festival

I took part in the Vic Park Sprint last year and have entered again for 2016. Moved to November this year. It was a huge event and very well run.

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

I think if whomever wrote the first piece on why Adelaide is supposedly better did so in the hope that Liverpool would respond, the bravo. It was clearly a very light hearted jab and the scousers have responded in brilliant fashion.

[COM] Re: Brickworks Redevelopment | $70m

i'm sure its just teething issues associated with a busy opening day but the roundabout at the entrance to the car park could not cope with the traffic levels yetserday. I hope its not an ongoing thing as it congests entry onto South Rd from Ashwin Parade in a significant way. Perhaps they should ha...

Re: Motorsport Ideas

Spiller, what car will you be driving? I attended the event last year and it was such a great display of automotive history and a really well organised event by the Sporting Car Club of S.A. I have a feeling this years event is going to be 10x better than last, judging by some of the Formula 1 cars...

Re: Motorsport Ideas

I doubt we'll ever see anything other than Clipsal or F1 racing on Adelaide's Streets in the foreseeable future, unless they do combine them into a single event. That aside though, its looking like we're going to have the best motorsport complex in the nation so it may as well be used to its full p...

Re: Motorsport Ideas

I hope the Adelaide street circuit is used if SA has additional events beyond the v8 street cars. The Tailem Bend circuit is good but it'Adelaide's the street circuit that made the F1 so good, same with the Clipsal 500. I bet inner-suburban residential groups are already strategising and lobbying t...

Re: Motorsport Ideas

I always hope for the return of F1 to Adelaide but I wont hold my breath. The Tailem Bend motorsport park is incredibly exciting however and I hope the developers dont settle for V8SC when it comes to attracting big events. International events should definitely be on their radar and although the fa...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

the controversy would surely only be about AUFC not consider AO as a home ground, the other stuff (scheduling two sporting events on the same weekend) is rubbish. The MCG does it 25 weeks of the year. AO's turf can handle a few extra sets of sprigs.

Re: Uber

i have used them on a couple of occasions and will continue to do so. its about the same cost as a taxi, and far more comfortable and better smelling inside the car. the driver said there are current around 40 drivers for black in adelaide, so its still very small. I would even love to do it on the ...

[COM] Re: #U/C: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

i drove down this stretch the other day in the dry and accelerated (not aggressively) and the back tyres lost traction (and my tyres are stickier than what most cars would have). can only imagine how poor traction would be when wet.

I dont remember the mention of new podiatry and physio clinics previously, although they wouldnt quite account for the extra $150 million! Great to hear though.

epic!

This will surely cement S-KWS as a skyline in its own right, all be it a small one. Hopefully more to come in this area. When is expected completion?

Mono, totally get your point as to why Starbucks didnt work here, and completely agree with you. Their coffee really is pretty terrible and Americans are more pre-ocupied about what goes with the coffee (e.g. syrups, spices and other general wank) to make it a complete "drink" rather than ...
