[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

Anyone have any updates on the other 2 previously intended Masters sites (Parafield & Noarlunga)? If the mod could also change this thread title to Bunnings Adelaide Airport? Parafield is being advertised for lease, Supercheap Auto have filled one of the tenancies: https://www.home-co.com.au/centre...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Why do we have so many buses that go from the CBD to the outer northern suburbs? Should just have one bus that goes from CBD up Main North Rd that terminates in Elizabeth. All other outer North buses should be feeder routes to the nearest train station. This will of course be even more effective on...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I can just imagine the journey time from Gawler to City, thus how attractive it would be. Just did a quick calculation based on 42km distance at 90kmh speed = 28 minutes, even once you add on slowing down in Adelaide yard its still only a little more.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Its a pity our train seats on the electric can't be turned around so you can face forward even the latest Waratahs in NSW have them.

Now that Gawler is expanding its a pity we don't have a third track which will allow trains to be express between Gawler and Adelaide.

Once the Northern Connector is opened it may just make towns like Two Wells and Virginia attractive places to live in. If I recall there was a new suburb proposed in Waterloo Corner a while ago, it was west of the Heaslip Road level crossing.

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

I'll rephrase my earlier post. We'd all love to see interstate passenger services terminate and depart from Adelaide Railway Station. But this horse has probably bolted due to the development west of Morphett Street: SAHMRI, NRAH, etc. Maybe we should consider a new station in the CBD (e.g. beneath...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

I meant that GSR's The Indian Pacific and The Ghan should stop at Virginia and have coaches that take customers to the Barossa Valley whereby they will bring in tourist dollars in to one of our state's tourist regions. Who knows with a boost in train passenger numbers they may be able to put on more...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

The Indian Pacific and The Ghan should look at creating connections points whereby people coming in to SA can get off say Virginia, Two Wells or Mawson Lakes and travel to prime tourist areas like the Barossa by coach. The Overland as I kinda mentioned earlier should stop at a new station (old Balha...

Re: Petrol Station Owners

I recall a while ago that there was plan that On The Run wanted to build service station at the former Go Kart track site on the corner of Waterloo Corner Road and Port Wakefield Highway . Also if I may add as cars come more fuel efficient or more and more people start to transition to hybrids and a...

Re: Vision: CBD Underground Rail Loop

Now that the Seaford and Tonsley Lines are electrified the State Government should be selling the land above especially in areas such as Ascot Park, Oaklands, Hove (once grade separation is done), Noarlunga Centre, Seaford. A underground city rail loop with stations in the right places could help bo...

There has been some serious concrete buckling at the pedestrian overpass just south of Hawker Street. It is on the ground level just at the entrance of the eastern side of the crossing. It looks like some serious expansion of concrete! I only noticed it on a run last night when I almost tripped ove...

OMG !.......flogging a dead horse......when will the economic reality of the Overland service sink in with some people.... It will eventually die........and the few remaining will passengers will use buses in South Australia, and in Victoria buses to the nearest V-Line train station. On a train lik...
