[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

I'm starting to wonder if this has been quietly put to sleep 3000 Class Railcars have been seen tested on the branch line. What I do wonder is where car parking can be expanded, there is residents in the Gray Terrace area, some are in walking distance whereas some might still want to drive, park an...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Just imagine the boom for cafes along Prospect road after AFL/ cricket fixtures at Adelaide Oval if the tram went along Prospect road. It would spread the activity beyond the immediate vicinity of North Adelaide. Last I heard the North Adelaide traders were flat after the Adelaide Oval redo. Zero l...

What other areas should host the Tour Down Under?

What other areas or routes would you like to see in Tour Down Under?

I personally would like to see a route starting from Mount Barker , go via the Old Princes Highway and ending in Murray Bridge

Or Freeling to Truro via Kapunda and Eudunda

Or Aldinga to Cape Jervis via Yankallila

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The most basic problem with Prospect Rd, The Parade, Henley Bch Rd etc etc is actually fitting trams (with cars/ traffic). Probably all off street parking would need to go. So what do you think the traders will say? Only maybe if trams share the road with cars/traffic as they do on Jetty Rd Glenelg...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I agree Norwood is ideal for light rail, however, I think there would be more public and local council support from Prospect. It has the benefit of linking North Adelaide via O'Connell Street, and ample opportunity for value adding by increasing density North of Regency Road, which is developing it...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I read somewhere there was a proposal to repurpose the underpass to get trams from the existing Entertainment Centre station into North Adelaide. This would imply the tram would still run up Port Road and then turn back East. This seems like a very indirect route. Extending from the Festival Plaza ...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Getting it ready to sell the land to a land developer maybe, I am sure Lend Lease could make a nice suburb out of it , they did a good job transforming The Levels swamp into a successful suburb It's only a very small part of the land. For reclamation projects it's normally left to the developer (e....

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

I noticed they are reclaiming a heap of land over on the Port Wakefield Rd side of the salt pans, does this have anything to do with the NC project? They've been doing it for about 6 months now. Doesn't appear to be any connection to the Northern Connector. They appear to be reclaiming the land by ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Many years ago we had a good mix of city based routes and cross suburban routes nowadays its mainly city based, thats ok during peak hours but at other times people mainly just want to go from suburb to suburb. 361, good route but too infrequent for a busy road, deviating this route via Dry Creek St...

[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m

I just want to see a combined Woolworths, Big W, Dan Murphys and pub  Coles group could probably do bigger combination though Coles, Kmart/Target, First Choice Liquor/Liquorland, Bunnings, Charlies Diner They kind of tried that concept 30 odd years ago with "SuperK" Port Adelaide. It was Kmart...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

As well as focusing on city routes we should be thinking of what suburban routes we could have. For example a tram route between Glenelg and Flinders University via Diagonal Road and Sturt Road

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)

I spoke to someone a few weeks ago who works for the Scentre Group, they claimed that Stage 2 of the TTP expansion should be starting this calander year. Apparently Stage 1 has been an even bigger success than they anticipated so they want to strike while the iron is hot. Good. Visiting TTP is like...
