[U/C] Re: New Calvary Hospital | 60m | 12 lvls | Cnr Angas/Pulteney

No word/plans yet on what will be happening to the Wakefield hospital when Calvary move out in the coming months. Does anyone here know more? The big question is will Cromwell demo it for a big new development or just renovate it (and if so, for what?) It’s a big 8,700 sqm site... It’s hard to imag...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

A second airport dedicated to freight is not supported by SA export data by $$$ value. Cant see Infrastructure Australia given it much priority. SA exports are down to 2.25% of Australia’s exports by value and very little of that is air freighted in dedicated cargo planes. Main SA exports by value ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

How many cargo flights do we get? The tiny amount we get doesn't justify a second airport just for the sake of it. There's a lot of it that gets sent on commercial international flights. I wouldn't say its enough to justify an entire airport for it. We haven't seen a Cathay Cargo aircraft for years...

[COM] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

I'd expect to see them target the likes of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Givenchy etc. and have them setup their first SA stores I would like to see Aldi, Woolworths, Foodland and Harris Scarfe I think that a second supermarket was in a future stage 2 extension? Don’t reckon Harris Scarfe wo...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

The freeway and airport of GlobeLink are incidental to the key point of the railway. It will be a slight improvement to rail freight between Melbourne and Adelaide, but more significant for rail freight between Melbourne and Perth/Darwin. Putting in a freeway in the same corridor at the same time m...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I can’t see it happening for passengers .. it’s just too far away with our relatively small population & amount of flights. The time to travel there/back won’t justify it. I think it will be hard enough getting the business model to justify the $1bn-$2bn spend. Can I ask the forum, why do you think...

No superlatives about the design, but nice, elegant, timeless glazing which will date well.

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Will this roof be good for anything once/if the place is bulldozed and a multipurpose arena built in its place? It would be such a waste otherwise. Multipurpose arena is most likely to be built elsewhere. If we are to build an arena over 10,000 seats, it will also require the demolition of Next Gen...

Just seen a tweet from Tennis SA CEO.. Big announcement tomorrow for “tennis in SA, make that Australia. An absolute game changer.” Maybe more than just the roof happening? Hence the lack of work so far? Wouldn’t get too excited yet ... might be the announcement of a major long-term sponsorship for...

So the party differentiation I don't think there is any difference. The last claimed Liberal vs Labor difference was Darlington vs T2T and had both started within 12 months anyway. They were just sections needing to be done, nothing to do with Labor or Liberal. If either side claim any project for ...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Ok so where are the figures that say that public transport usage has declined in the last 3 years? There has been no release of theses numbers (as far as I have noticed....) Depends how you look at it. Overall usage has increased, but bus patronage has decreased. 2015-16: Bus 41.104m Tram 8.885m Tr...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Some things never really actually change in South Australia - since 1994, Adelaide's public transport has been under various guises including the State Transport Authority (STA), TransAdelaide, the Passenger Transport Board, Adelaide Metro, DPTI and now SAPTA. Meanwhile Adelaide's overall transport...
