[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

There's no doubt that something needs to be done with that side of the tracks, but why can't it be as simple as landscaping an events/recreational park on the site? This has worked for Birrarung Marr in Melbourne on a similar slice of land. Better yet, follow the ACC's vision for the site and build...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

There's a story on adelaidenow.com.au that consultants are going to investigate a business case for bored tunnel option to complete the NS Motorway between T2T and Darlington, as the land acquisition costs alone are estimated at around $1BN (which could quite conceivably go much higher). Bored tunne...

Would've been nicer if that glazing to the left hand side of the sculpture was carried all around the building instead of that white cladding with the H&M logo.

Oh well ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Re the need to upgrade rail network...about the same number of people use Adelaide's current rail network per day as those driving on South Rd, but I am fairly sure more has been spent on upgrading South Rd over past decade (and prob will be into the future). Not that I want to start a debate on ra...

Given what they’ve produced with Kodo I’m not that hopeful tbh.
What's wrong with Kodo? Turned out pretty good in my opinion.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Funnily enough, we already have this numbering system. 100-series: East-West 200-series: North-South 300-series: Inter-suburban 400-series: Outer North 500-series: O-Bahn/North-East 600-series: Inter-suburban 700-series: Outer South 800-series: Hills 900-series: Rural & School Services Not really t...

- East West: EW1, EW2 etc
- Outer North: ON1, ON2 etc
Yeah, no.
What is your suggestion to improve the numbering system? Or are you satisfied with how it currently is?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Adelaide bus route numbering is a mess......neither consistent nor simple......some bus routes show "one" number in and out of the city, some bus routes one "into" the city and then another number "out" of the city. Some routes use letters to indicate they run on a major road then use the same lett...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Is the new Flinders station to be built on the northern edge of the carpark that sits north of the Innovation for Cancer Centre? Or is the carpark going, to be replaced by the train station?......this area looks about 150 metres from the bus stops, maybe a covered walkway with improved lighting/str...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Why not start preparing the business case for an Adelaide CBD rail tunnel? This should not be as pie-in-the-sky as people think. Would perfectly complement an electrified Gawler line which could seamlessly connect to the Seaford line and revamped Tonsley line. Would reduce end-to-end travel times be...

So what is currnetly getting built here once this is demolished? I’m a little confused. Nothing confirmed yet. Depends what type of indigenous gallery get built .... an amended version of the winning competition design (desirable) or a totally new design (bad ... would delay the process by a furthe...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Agreed, it needs one more station further south for the university. That said, it's hilly terrain in the area. It highlights what a frustrating location Flinders is for a University. The only seamless way to get a train right into Flinders is to do it how hilly Euro and North American cities build ...

Another issue is - would the 36ers and Thunderbirds want to move from their current locations? The reason TSA was built in the first place was so basketball didn't have to share a venue with concerts (and the scheduling clashes that come with it). Talk to them. I think Basketball may change its tun...
