[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Overpass was scrapped for two reasons:

Inability to provide safe access to the tram depot. The turn into the depot is already very tight as it is. Secondly, they need to build a new depot anyway so there's no point in providing access to the current one while they scope options for a new one.

Re: The SA Politics Thread

There are a total of 47 representatives in the Lower House. A party needs a majority of 24 seats to govern. There are 5 crossbenchers. Labor already had 27 seats. Very likely to increase that majority to 28 seats, with the Dunstan by election win. Liberals had 15 seats, now down to 14 most likely. T...

Forum Etiquette

Unfortunately the level of discourse on these forums is at an all time low. Just about every thread or topic I open up is a slanging match between a minor cohort of the same users over and over again. There was a time when I used to look forward to logging on and reading what news, photos and update...

Google Maps, the ABS, planning agencies, etc. all say otherwise, but you do you boo.

[CAN] Re: New Mayfield | 41-61m | 11-17lvls | Mixed Use

The Adelaide CBD is -huge- compared to the size of CBDs in other cities within Australia. Unfortunately, as a result of its geographical size, the problem of abandoned and vacant building sites will always be a problem.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Am I reading this right?

A business lobby who traditionally advocates on behalf of motorists, is advocating for better public transport services?

Should have been done ten years ago but better late than never.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Can't build a viaduct at Hove, but hey, she'll be right mate with Marion and Cross Roads, where it'll be a lot bigger and more visually impacting. The same lot of whingers really need to take a long hard look at Melbourne's Level Crossing Removal Projects, which despite initial opposition, has turne...

Re: SA Economy

I had to check the ABS statistics for myself. We actually did grow by 30,500 the past year which is the highest growth I think SA has ever had in actual numbers (not percentage), since, well ever.

Victoria grew by 181,800. So basically 3/4 of a Geelong in just one year. Absolutely crazy growth.

[SWP] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels

Just to point out the elephant in the room, there's a housing crisis going on and a very high vacancy rate of commercial office space in the CBD.

I think they need to rejig the office component into a residential tower.
