Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

So the Liberals public transport policy is to... build a carpark after blocking it 3 years ago. Hypocrisy much.

Are they actually trying to lose this election?

It's very 70s but in a modern way. I'll be interested to see how this one turns out.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Any level crossing removal for Cross Road would also involve level crossing removal for Hilda/Sussex Terraces given they are only 350m apart. There's a few factors at play here; 1. Cost & property acquisition of about 15 homes. 2. Belair line patronage / possible light rail conversion. 3. Freight li...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Good, now let's start planning the extension under the CBD. It will allow higher frequencies on all lines due to being able to run through the CBD rather than terminating in a terminus station. The next step needs to be electrifying the Outer Harbor and Belair Lines. Then a city loop ;) Outer Harbo...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

State could've just borrowed the $180m to fund it on their own. Pretty sure this project has a postive CBR, so in the long term it it would pay for itself.

Also if project is starting imminently - makes me wonder if Labors internal polling is that dire in the northern seats with the NXT threat?

Re: The SA Politics Thread

Dunstan will be one of the hot seats to watch. It's fairly marginal seat 53/47 2PP at last election, with a swing of 1.7% to Labor. If Labor (or NXT) can narrow this down even further on election day but Marshall still holds onto the seat, he might want to reconsider his position if the Liberals are...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

I'm very surprised too, given how tight the race is between the three parties. You'd think they'd be throwing absolutely everything they can out there to swing votes in their respective favours. I cannot believe that the Liberals are once again playing the small target strategy! Have they not learnt...

Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass

Thread title needs an update.

I'm hoping that they'll be putting in temporary tracks alongside while they build the underpass. The Seaford line has already endured enough closures in recent years with the electrification and Goodwood Underpass projects.
