Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The only sort of outcome I can see Labor agreeing to, is one where the Government will build the track, stops and wires and run a normal tram service under the AdelaideMetro banner, but allowing Downer to run a private service (like Melbourne's Skybus) which would have limited stops and have its own...

$500m for a tram to the airport!?

I thought it was $500m for a Henley Beach line, with a spur to ADL airport, Grange, West Lakes, Port Adelaide, Semaphore and Outer Harbour.

If Elenberg Frazer can get a 250m tower up in Melbourne inside of 1.5 years... how come they can't do a 140m one by Dec 2018 / Early 2019?

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The only viable option I can see for a depot to service the Norwood / Eastern suburbs trams is possibly on the Housing Trust block which occupies 30-48 Rundle Street. This block is state government owned land, so they could just build new social housing elsewhere in the neighbourhood (probably as a ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Well I do recall where the depot was going to go for the western suburbs tram proposal (West Lakes / Grange) being the vacant block bordering West Lakes Boulevard, Philip Crescent and Circuit Drive.

Flowerboxes look like Christmas decoration maybe? Red and white is the seasons' colours after all.

I like the little engraved thingymajigs in the Topham Mall seaters. Nice touch.

Re: Port Adelaide | Developments & News

I think the Bowden model is has produced the best urban renewal / development outcome seen in Adelaide. Far better than having just one developer produce a master plan for a chunk of land and put up the same copy-paste crap a thousand times over throughout.

[ONH] Re: 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl | U2 Apartments

Well, do you really expect any new buyer to have to commission architects who've got to work with the structural layout of the previous design? The answer is no. It's too complicated. Easier to have blank template, demolish and start again.

An impressive competition. The quality of designs will be nothing short of exceptional.

I've a hunch who the winner will be already.

You lot need to calm your farms. It's going to be a tunnel. End of story. There is no further argument.
