[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
Well, I can't stop you all from guessing. Just don't expect me to confirm or deny anything until it's public knowledge - I really like my job. Business/law/government also has the advantage that it would need facilities more similar to a standard office building than any other discipline, and ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
Flinders Uni employee here, who's scheduled to move to the city. :) Those who guessed a major expansion of the city presence are correct - the majority of one of the 6 colleges will be moving there. Not saying which one until it's publicly confirmed (I like my job). The train line was a BIG drawcard...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
The Victoria Square building was due to be demolished in a couple of years, about the time Festival Plaza is meant to open (at least that was the case pre-covid). The old Reserve Bank building? Fair bit of heritage value to it, can't see that getting demolished without a big fight. I was surprised ...

[COM] Re: 52-66 King William Street | ~65m | 15 Levels | Southern Cross Arcade
Well if that is true then it's very unfortunate. Another Govt. agency having to anchor a building just to get it off the ground. You make it sound like they are being forced. :D Services Australia has tenancies in several buildings in/around the CBD, from the days when orgs like Medicare were separ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
It appears the Urrbrae campuses of Uni SA and Tafe have been disregarded. The service that was going down Waite Rd looks to be discontinued and the closest bus to the City is more than 1km away at The Tollgate or Fullarton Rd. I'd think it's a mistake to drop that service. Interesting that they neg...

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link
The university owns the land around the station, but the multilevel car park is controlled by the hospital. Building the new Flinders Village took Governmental approval, so the opportunity to move the bus interchange was there for the Govt to take. Maybe it's not a bad thing though - the main entran...

Long time lurker first time poster here. Heard today that Coles at Arndale will be closing in early February. Perhaps something to do with the previously mentioned Stage 5 redevelopment?? I remember when it was BI-LO. I remember when it was Target (or was it Arrow?) It was Target, then Arrow, then ...

Citi Centre Arcade just posted this on Facebook. Whilst we are working behind the scenes we still have our existing retailers - Nike, McDonal...

I'm not sure if it is recorded on this forum anywhere, but the SA Govt contribution is the cost of moving the rail control centre that is currently on that land. At least, that was the plan when SAHMRI 2 was first proposed.Smithy85 wrote:$44m in next week's State budget for this according to the Tiser.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
With the Tonsley rail extension, are they going to put a level crossing across Sturt Rd? Or will there be an overpass/underpass? Didn't the government say they were trying to get rid of level crossings? They're building an overpass. http://www.premier.sa.gov.au/stephen-mullighan-news-releases/524-g...

[COM] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2
This project needs a lot of extra funding to be viable. The original planned cost was for $280 million - Feds will kick in $68m, and SA Gov was going to kick in $40m. Flinders was originally going to kick in $60m. That's a pretty big shortfall...
