[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m

Long time lurker first time poster here. Heard today that Coles at Arndale will be closing in early February. Perhaps something to do with the previously mentioned Stage 5 redevelopment?? I remember when it was BI-LO. I remember when it was Target (or was it Arrow?) It was Target, then Arrow, then ...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Citi Centre Arcade just posted this on Facebook. Exciting changes are taking place on the corner of Pulteney Street and Rundle Mall to bring you a whole new shopping experience to be known as Rundle Square. Whilst we are working behind the scenes we still have our existing retailers - Nike, McDonal...

[SWP] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2

Smithy85 wrote:$44m in next week's State budget for this according to the Tiser.
I'm not sure if it is recorded on this forum anywhere, but the SA Govt contribution is the cost of moving the rail control centre that is currently on that land. At least, that was the plan when SAHMRI 2 was first proposed.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

With the Tonsley rail extension, are they going to put a level crossing across Sturt Rd? Or will there be an overpass/underpass? Didn't the government say they were trying to get rid of level crossings? They're building an overpass. http://www.premier.sa.gov.au/stephen-mullighan-news-releases/524-g...

[SWP] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2

This project needs a lot of extra funding to be viable. The original planned cost was for $280 million - Feds will kick in $68m, and SA Gov was going to kick in $40m. Flinders was originally going to kick in $60m. That's a pretty big shortfall...

They're still going to be used. I know at least some of the staff moving from the Repat will be going there.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

I was just at work meeting (Flinders Uni) where they said there was going to be a sliding at the Tonsley station to allow trains to slip past. The frequency will be 15 minutes.

I wonder how the councils will react to this. Does this design address many of their concerns?

Re: News & Discussion: Trains

Finally, finally, FINALLY! This has been on my personal wish-list for Adelaide public transport for years. But is that only one train track I can see in the render? Definitely looks like a single track to me. Surely they would duplicate it.. Surely!! The expressway worked fine going in one directio...

Re: News & Discussion: Trains

The train is going to the entrance of Flinders Private Hospital, behind a carpark. It's a 5 minute walk to FMC, and not very helpful for people going to most of the Uni. Previous designs have either stopped at the entrance of FMC, or stopped at FMC and the University. I can see why they did it - thi...

[U/C] Re: COM: Flinders Medical Centre | $153m

Not that I'd want to accuse the government of spin, but they're only building the car park. They've removed a few hundred carparks while the building goes up, and they're using Flinders Uni car parks to cater for staff demand in the mean time. The new car park is due to be finished just before...

The plans for the new $146 million 5 level rehabilitation building, new psychogeriatric building and the new 5 level staff carpark are before the state government DAC. This proposal is designed to facilitate the transfer of services from the Repat. The plans are available: http://www.dac.sa.gov.au/...
