[COM] Re: Tailem Bend Motor Sport complex

I don't think it's common knowledge, but the Bend motor sport park will be the venue for the next Australian scout Jamboree in January 2018. Facilities (including shower / toilet blocks etc) will need to be in place by then to allow camping for around 12,000 participants for a 2 week period. I suspe...

Anyone know about the fate of Masters in MG.? (and the new shopping centre around it). All only just established. [COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

Wesfarmers do not own the Mile End Bunnings store - it is owned by BWP Trust - a listed property trust that owns a portfolio of Bunnngs stores that it leases to Bunnings. They announced a couple of weeks ago that 7 of their stores were impacted by the Masters closure - with Bunnings planning to vaca...

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

Mile End is one of Bunnings' national flagship stores. It's far and out the best performing location in SA. It won't be moving. I agree. This store is always busy. I can't see them closing it. The Masters site at Adelaide Airport would be a successful trading site - captures the market in the weste...

[COM] Re: Westfield Marion Expansion | $350m

I've heard that once Bunnings get their planning approval sorted at their Pasadena site and build their new store, this site will be closed, the building demolished and a three level car park built in its place. Surely they would build a replacement store though? I visit Bunnings Marion often and i...

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

Maybe Coles could take up the masters space with their larger format like the store at Churchill Centre Not sure if there is sufficient demand for another supermarket near the airport - especially since the Woolworths at Harbour Town has low sales figures, and an Aldi is planned for somewhere on ai...

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

Does anyone have any insights as to what may happen to this site when Masters closes?
My tip would be for the area to be divided, with Bunnings taking say 8000 sqm and the remainder split into say 3 tenancies of about 1500 sqm each, with Officeworks and maybe say some furniture shops moving in?

I was surprised to see the ad in the Messenger as it's the first I have heard of stage 1 commencing.
I think it's a but weird it's starting so close to Christmas.
Doesn't look like a significant upgrade - but an expanded fresh food offer will be welcomed by me, as current offer is very poor.

Re: The Krispy Kreme / On The Run thread

The building behind is a Midas car care centre.
The site is a former Mobil Quik site that was taken over by OTR last year - is just being remodelled.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I belive Adelaiude's first "Move" store owned by Dick Smith is to open where Swarovski was in the Myer Centre. This is confirmed on the Myer Centre website - says it is opening on ground level. I wasn't aware of this chain until I saw your posting. Looks like a "new" retail concept: Move is new ret...

[PRO] Re: PRO: Castle Plaza Shopping Centre Redevelopment

I was at Castle Plaza yesterday and a section of the car park near South Road has been fenced off. Nothing inside the fenced off area yet, but I am guessing some ATCO huts etc will arrive soon.

Maybe the redevelopment is about to begin?

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

On another note, whilst I don't enjoy or support fast-food eateries at all; I can't understand why McDonald's never thought to set up shop along Rundle Street somewhere... I can think of two locations that would be really suitable. One being where American Apparel are, the other where Bnkr is (the ...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

But what about the one at Windsor Gardens where Bunnings (formerly Lloyd's) is still trading? This store is about to be demolished I think - to make way for a new Bunnings warehouse? The application involves the expansion of the existing Bunnings development to encompass the existing supermarket an...
