Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Isn’t the Seaford line an all-stops 15 min frequency service during the weekday inter peak period? Not quite. The section between Woodlands Park and Adelaide has half the Seaford trains running express and the other half stopping. So Northbound trains arrive in Adelaide at irregular intervals, and ...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Honestly surprised the superway offramp narrows to one lane. I would’ve thought it would be 2 lanes, but I suppose that only local traffic to Mawson Lakes and the southern fringes of Salisbury is really going to exit there. Even the case for Salisbury North/Park/Heights could be made to exit at Bol...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Hmm. Fans sitting square on to a centre court which is diagonally tens of metres away. Check. Barely adequate makeshift facilities. Check. Much fanfare from adoring Adelaide media ignoring Adelaide facilities as a laughing stock. Check. Not much has changed in 70 odd years eh? While the spectator f...

The new westbound alignment of the Port River Expressway/Salisbury Highway has opened today.

The Hanson Rd ramp off ramp from Port River Expressway is now closed for the week to update it's alignment to the Port River Expressway.

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Don't forget that Salisbury Highway should be alot quieter once the Northern Connector is up and running so there shouldn't be any major problems merging/changing lanes. What Salisbury Highway traffic will move on to the Northern Connector? They are divergent routes. Are you talking about the short...

I’m not usually critical of other opinions on this forum but as someone who has been to the AO at Melbourne Park twice in the past 3 years and two night sessions at the Adelaide International so far this year I have to question whether the posters above have actually a) watched any lower level ATP ...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Traffic coming from Salisbury Highway but not intending to exit at Grand Junction Road is still going to need to merge into the stream of traffic from the Northern Connector, at the same time as some of that traffic is seeking to move into the Grand Junction Road exit lane. Some of that section is ...

[U/C] Re: [U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Are there road design rules about how wide these shoulders and the traffic lanes should be for various speed limits? Yes, absolutely. I'd say that having individual lane speed signs means motorists can be notified that the left lane is blocked (with a red X) and the other lanes are reduced to 40. T...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Traffic was tame enough this morning to utilise the southbound lanes of the Superway this morning. The on-ramp from Salisbury Highway will eventually be reduced to one lane (it's temporarily set up for 2 lanes for now until the northern connector opens), with the lane form Salisbury Highway providin...

Went to last night's session, and was surprised at how little protection the roof actually provides spectators from the elements, especially on the western end of the old stands. The roof needed to be a tad wider to provide maximum protection. Also, pretty much all of the specator concessions are be...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Northbound elevated Motorway has been resurfaced, and is now consistently three lanes from Regency Road to the Southern Interchange. The emergency stopping lane around the on-ramp from Grand Junction Road has been removed to enable this. I could never understand why it went from 3 to 2 suddenly the...
