We've got experience with retractable sporting infrastructure.
Several English cricket grounds have had more success with retractable light towers than what we did.

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

The Bolivar Rd on ramp had it's speed limit increased from 70 km/h to 90 km/h. This makes more sense as 70 always felt painfully slow given the length of the on ramp. Hopefully they can bump up the speed limit for the last bit of the southbound stretch before the southern interchange - the change to...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

One of the benefits of O-Bahn is that buses can leave the O-Bahn track and drive through the suburbs. People shouldn't need to drive to the O-Bahn when they should be able to get a bus to the O-Bahn and beyond. The issue then becomes a matter of convenience - do you wait 30 minutes for the bus at y...

Re: Petrol Station Owners

I believe Drakes is now fully independent and have their own distribution network and distribution centre in the northern suburbs. Romeo's has also now expanded to Sydney with a few stores, branded as Romeo's IGA. Drakes separated from Foodland last year. It has had its own cold warehouse (near Bev...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Park and ride just pushes the traffic jam back into the suburbs. The area surrounding O-Bahn stops should be transit-oriented developments. This is expensive real estate and car parks are for inexpensive real estate! transforming it into a TOD wouldn't suddenly make everyone who currently uses Para...

That’s pretty disappointing hopefully another operator can take over.
Who would take over the site.

It's too close for Reading, too low brow and modern for Palace Nova, and I doubt Hoyts would be interested (though they're probably the best fit).

Re: Seaton Park Drive In

Gepps Cross pretty much relies on the trash and treasure market to keep afloat Actually I'd say that the weekly Gepps Cross Market (fruit and veg) brings more custom than the trash and treasure. Definately the case when I've been there in the last year or so. True - that was my bad. I lumped the tw...

New Infrastructure Minister Corey Wingard said work was continuing to progress on the North-South corridor project. “We won’t be rushed into making a decision on the biggest project in the state’s history because the Opposition, with a track record of delivering nothing, says so,” he said. “An Oppo...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

The Overland really must mean something more to regional Victorians than it does to regional South Australians. The Vics are stumping up more money to keep the Overland running. From In Daily The Overland train set to resume when borders open: reports The embattled Overland train service between Ad...
