[quote=kymbosa post_id=181390 time=1560738196 user_id=1261] Confirmed by Marshall this morning on Adelaide Radio, this road construction won’t start this term. Which means we will have re-announcement of the re-announcement, how many times will this be announced before ...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

in hindsight it would have been a far better option for the state government to redevelop the Adelaide aquatic centre into the state aquatic centre rather than dumping it out at Oaklands Park. Then we would have a state maintained centre, in public hands, with exclusive public access in a public par...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

The Adelaide parklands would have to be the most over rated, under utilised patch of dirt of any capital city in Australia. They are neither native bush, or manacured park. Contrary to popular belief, the only thing poeple from other states know about the parklands is when they drive through them, a...

[U/C] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | 55m | 12 Levels | Hotel

At the time the council was estimating upkeep costs of up to $500,000 a year to keep the bridge and surrounds in good condition, hoping the state government would help out. I assume that state contribution never ended up happening? One wonders what ACC do with the millions in extra rates they are r...

Re: Murray Bridge | Developments & News

Anyone know where this site exactly is [10kms out of Murray Bridge]? Btw, has Marshall ever said exactly where his Globelink hubs ie airport, train etc would be located and would you expect this site to be near it?? The other thing is how accessible will this be for the 2000 employees that they nee...

Sorry to hijack this particular one, but that water cascade and staircase adjacent the footbridge is yet another example of public space upgrade been left to disrepair. What's the point of spending the...

I don't agree with the way mr knoll is handling this. But poor old Tom needs to just stay silent, there is no way a verifier is going to have been able to pick up something like this. The blame game really is a sad indictment of Australian politics. Governments pay experts to design and construct i...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

And now the South Australian government are looking for a site for a Flinders bus interchange !!!! In 2019 we can't get this right and do it at the same time as the Flinders link extension.......!!!!! Medium to long term planning in South Australia is absolutely woeful.........D-............!!!!!!!...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I really think it's time to move on from this shed. So Starfish said in their original submission they wanted to keep the shed "if possible" . How is this even relevant, when the current developer also wanted to keep the shed " if possible" then guess what.. it's riddled with asbestos etc etc. time...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

This has been trailed in several cities overseas, with varying success. The cost of PT in Australia is almost criminal, but Adelaides system would not cope with removing the charge, as even a small rapid increase in patronage would bring the system to s standstill. Also once the service is free the ...

Agree. Stations need to be visible, accessible, and safe, with good connections to other services. These small stations in back streets are none of these.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Federal government is putting $85.5 million towards the Brighton Road (Hove) level crossing upgrade. It's hard to believe that they wouldn't include a station as well. If they are, can they please just copy-paste the station design for Oaklands? 1. Consistent design across stations. 2. No doubt it ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Just for this week, I've been counting passenger numbers on select services along the Gawler line during morning and evening peak periods. Here are some key thoughts: - Electrification will make a massive difference by speeding up the service. - Some stations definitely need to be culled. Kudla is ...
