Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail

I also read the Dan Murphys will have a drive thru, which is a first (and maybe more to come in the future?)

Re: Beer Garden

Do you think they should consider Adelaide Oval?
What if the demand is significantly above what Hindmarsh can fit? Or to be considered/chosen to host bigger games/teams.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Some readers comments in the’Tiser about this. One suggested a simplistic solution for the remaining 10.5km section is to make South Road one way & four lanes travelling South and Marion Road one way & four lanes travelling North. With only minimal cost of traffic light changes, paint and removing a...

Target

Heard that Woolworths may take over Target Fulham Gdns when they vacate combined with a Dan Murphys and their BWS goes. Also the former Target at Pasadena is getting a TK Maxx, a fashion & homewares chain, their first outlet in SA.

[U/C] Re: Flinders Rail Link

I agree that would be the best outcome but I can think of no bus interchanges on private land. Maybe if the Govt bought/compulsorily acquired the land it could happen. Further the car parks generate an income for the Uni. and unfortunately a bus station/interchange doesn't.

[U/C] Re: Flinders Rail Link

I'm guessing that Flinders Uni wanted to maximise the land around the station for their own economic benefit [building new buildings, shops, accoomodation etc] rather than as a bus station with no income/return etc

Re: Whyalla | Developments & News

There was a big $90m proposal for a new jetty including hotel etc etc and Marshall went into the last election promising the first $20m. I think it was conditional on a business plan and private companies, council etc paying for the rest of it.

Re: SA Economy

Good idea the only thing is data centres are very energy intensive. The cost of electricity here is very high compared to places overseas (even with solar/battery storage.)

Re: Port Road West Lakes Boulevard Intersection

Yes while its an improvement they should have at least got rid altogether of the stupid triangle on the corner of Port Rd & Clark Tce. I also think they will still have problems with cars waiting to turn onto Port Rd (in front of Bunnings) as it will still only fit a handful of cars. The WL Boulevar...

Does anyone know if these apartment buildings have lifts? Or are the residents expected to walk up to 4 storeys? I ask as the price ranges are low (I remember seeing 1BR apts fr. $199k).

The Aquatic Centre at Marion cost some $100m some 10 years ago. Does anyone know the sq m size of that?
That has a capacity of around 3,500 people. The ACC doesn't say what the capacity is of their 3 potential options, if anyone knows?

It’s approx 10km (10,000m) of road length to be done, so the 1000 equates to an average 10m frontage per allot.

Yes I hope so & wonder if the offices are for Taplin (real estate/rentals etc). Also it doesn't say what the top floor is, possibly a penthouse apartment?

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects

I agree, I can’t understand why they don’t get rid of that lawned triangle area that serves no purpose. Surely Port Rd turning left immediately to West Lakes Boulevard after the train line would be better for traffic flow.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Others potential bidders mentioned in the papers include Twiggy Forest, Macquarie Bank & Wesfarmers. There’s also may be any of the current owners/major shareholders (which are 3 to 4 airlines) involved.
