[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

Ok based on these hypothetical options - A) Tunnels -10 years & $10 billion (and possibly tolls?) Vs B) Trench - 7 years & $7 billion but vastly more property & business resumptions & loss of heritage and far more disruption while being built. Vs C) Hybrid. A combination of the above. 8.5 years and ...

[U/C] Re: Penny Place | 78m | 24 levels | Apartments

To BSK, another reason some projects don’t go to tender is if the building company [or its directors etc] have a financial stake in the actual development so they are part of the development team also. Sometimes deals are also done that they agree to purchase apartments and/or invest in the project ...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

In July this year the Govt minister, Mr Speirs said planning was in its very early stages for the upgrade's stretch from Darlington to the River Torrens, and, with three models being considered, "two of them included a lot of tunnelling". "If tunnelling were the option, that would see a lot less bui...

If only it was built twice as high... and they could demolish the old Hyatt (now Intercontinental).

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Its sad that the gateway to Rundle Mall, supposedly our prime shopping precinct (from Rundle St) will be a KFC & Chemist Warehouse. Not long ago it was Australian Fashion Labels/Sanity Music/Telstra etc.. maybe it’s a sign of the times that only lower cost/high turnover businesses can pay the big re...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Yes for me the “grandstands” still look like something you would find in a country/regional town. I did see the courts & roof lit up at night and that may be the only saving grace (night tennis) as it looked very good with all the new lighting. Maybe they will incorporate coloured LED lights to matc...

They have cut down all of the trees but plenty of tree stumps/roots to still be taken out. I expect they will be working on moving all the electricity poles & doing the underground services. They have been setting up the base camp on Hudson St. I am wondering if they will start building the service ...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I agee SRW and it’s looks like its going to be a congested area let alone adding another tower. The stakeholders have had years to agree and did sign off on the plan so I am wondering why didn’t they make their suggestions or any changes at the start? Also with multiple neighbouring stakeholders I d...

Spoke to a Coles worker and he has heard a rumour it may become a Foodland once Coles vacate. He is not sure if Coles will be gone forever from Arndale but it appears so.

I thought they had previously announced Le Cordon Bleu school would operate this. Perhaps though after the previous Govt’s saga with Gillman everything may have to go out to open tender first, so it’s all transparent etc?

It’s a bit of a stretch to say they were backed by the previous State Govt. It was only to get the project off the ground. I refer to your own post Jaymz below - 223 Post Thu Mar 01, 2018 6:52 pm This project was also reported in the business section of The Australian today and it did mention the $5...

Anyone know if over Regency Rd will it be a bridge built near the site and moved into place like Darlington or an overpass just built in the place it is intended, like the Motorway?

A recent article on Rundle Place below, so has it dropped a whopping $150m in value in 3 years ($400m to $250m)? Cromwell walks away from Blackstone’s Rundle Place sale AFR Sept 12, 2019 Adelaide’s Rundle Place still has a way to go before it gets a new owner, after ASX-listed property group Cromwel...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The problem though the rent for Rundle Mall ground floor for the space HS had/would need, could probably send it broke anyway. My guess is the rent would be 5 times more for ground vs 1st floor etc.

Strange why they didn’t build the Aldi facing the main road & the apartment block away from rather than facing Marion Rd?
