Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Provided they leave a clearway at the end of the line/don't build buildings in front of it, it could always be done in the next 50 years.

Any idea who the developer is? I’m surprised Le Cordon Bleu (next door) didn’t buy it as this student accom. building would partially block the view of the proposed towers to be built behind it (if it ever happens).

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Sounds plausible but how much demand is there for Henley Beach all year round. Also to get from airport to city and vice versa will take a long time. I think more a high speed express train direct from airport to city is the best option (possibly underground.)

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I think both parties committed to finishing the North-South corridor in their previous election campaigns. I also remember reading the cost of tbm [tunnel boring machines] have come down significantly that made tunnelling a possible and now a more viable option here. I personally think that all the ...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

The Advertiser on the weekend identified about 10 heritage buildings that may need to go for the open cut widening for the final 10.5km of South Rd (similar to what has happened so far). It’s still all being scoped/assessed but it was interesting that even a heritage listing won’t necessarily save t...

I am guessing this is going to be a Quest Hotel after the one proposed at 100 North Tce didn't proceed. The site also at 201 North Tce [The former Gallerie] is under contract and was going to be apartments. Anyone know what is happening?

Yes Nort thats my only thought for the reason the numbers may seem high is if they include significant resumptions of properties/businesses near the intersections? ie Payout figures to businesses & owners forced to move.

The below may also be the reason for the project stalling.... Prospect vows to fight state’s ‘chainsaw massacre’ of its trees Prospect is ready for war. The State Government wants to remove hundreds of trees the community planted decades ago for a rail project — but it’s facing a huge public backlas...

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

The nitty gritty needs to come out and all has to be fully transparent. If a contract was signed how can this Govt terminate it? Who costed the project at $16m and what has now caused it to blow out 250%? Is the company that was awarded the contract now getting paid out [obviously a reduced amount] ...
