[U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Does anyone know how they achieve the min fire rating requirements? Are there any firewalls etc between rooms (as it doesn’t appear so)?

I think that slip lane is being closed and both sides of that intersection is being widened for the Adelaide High school students. The problem was with say hundreds of students waiting to cross is there wasn’t enough room to stand & they were literally spilling out onto the street.

Yes I agree esp if they ever branched the train line from Albert Pk as its only some 2-3 kms and the corridor is there to do it. It would be cheaper to build & quicker to the city than light rail however I concede aesthetically its not the best.

It could do with Elder Park having by far the best public transport options with train station, tram & bus at its door.

However by trying to make housing more affordable/making purchasing property less expensive, the effect of getting rid of negative gearing (investment incentives) will impact rental supply and lead to this type of housing (renting) then being more expensive. Federal Labour just tried and lost the la...

I know ground floor rents in Rundle Mall are $1,500 + sqm but have heard from agents that tenancies on upper floors [esp. large areas] only pay around $400 sqm - $500 sqm - so maybe a third of ground floor. Interested to know if anyone knows what Harris Scarfes rent was per sqm in Rundle Place?

Do you think think a Timezone would work here, say over one whole floor?

I am curious when they build multi-storey airport hotels/buildings [basically metres from a runway], do they throw away the rule book or how do these get assessed ie only if not under any current or future flight path?

We know part of this will be a hotel so maybe they are just organising an operator first before they start. On that, what brands are left that we don’t have here or coming as yet? I’m thinking it could become a Sheraton, Shangri-la, Langham, Marriott, Ramada. Thoughts?

There’s an application for the former Radio Rentals to be converted into a kids play centre with bumper cars/boats plus a cafe.
On another note, just wondering as C&G built/own the Bunnings at Edwardstown if there is any chance they may build a Bunnings as part of their development here.

It appears the concrete is being pushed up and lifting due to some strong force. It may not be the cause but it could be from a previous tree they cut down in the vicinity. If the tree stump/root is not bored out properly/completely it could continue to grow and push up the concrete.

It’s actually the other way around. It’s the developer that chooses the hotel group/chain that they want to manage their property. It’s like interviewing different property managers/agents and then choosing which one to go with.
