Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The West Lakes restaurants/cafes that had car parking were often booked/full before the game as patrons who dined there would get a "free" car park and save the $20 they would have paid just for a car park. I think with the Le Cornu site the ACCC are compromised/would be seen as hypocritical as thei...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Norman, see below I think there was/would have been a formal proposal to build it. Why would council have taken the site to market as an expression of interest campaign to offer the same opportunity to everyone else then? See below. Marion Council considers selling cultural centre to make way for in...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

That’s fine if you live close to the limited tram network we have. I also doubt car use/parking would diminish that much if just another road/route like Prospect Rd was added (I hope I am wrong). I also doubt how many are using cars/parking just to grab a coffee (maybe dining yes) or more likely usi...

[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport

In today’s paper there was a call for tenders (by Pike builders) for a Bunnings conversion at Adelaide Airport. I can only assume this is the old Masters site. The big question is will it mean anything for the Bunnings site at Mile End? Also is there any news on the rejected Bunnings site at Panoram...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The most basic problem with Prospect Rd, The Parade, Henley Bch Rd etc etc is actually fitting trams (with cars/ traffic). Probably all off street parking would need to go. So what do you think the traders will say? Only maybe if trams share the road with cars/traffic as they do on Jetty Rd Glenelg ...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I am sure if it does sell it would continue as a cinema anyway. I doubt it could cater to much else. I am pretty sure its heritage listed so couldn't be re-developed.

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Well considering its going to be built, whats the chances of a roof top garden and pool facing the stadium being an addition to the hotel? See pics below, ha! https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.trbimg.com%2Fimg-54446082%2Fturbine%2Fos-jacksonville-jaguars-pool-mike-bianchi-1020-20...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

If the development at 200 North Tce is going to go ahead they should do the demolition of the Gallerie Buildings etc now or at least at the same time as they are doing the Gawler Pl upgrade.

[U/C] Re: Oaklands Crossing | $174m

Exactly. Aidan as I said “ I still don’t know/understand why they couldn’t/didn’t either extend it some 500m and/or acquire the few properties in between.” The ideal result would have been to re-align and continue the train line underground near to the Aquatic Centre/Westfield & re-connect to a re-a...

The thing about railway stations is they have to be built where the railway tracks are!
D’oh, obviously move the tracks as well as the station. You were joking with that comment, right?

[U/C] Re: Oaklands Crossing | $174m

I totally agree about the past but also what about now! How can a $174m project not be built adjacent/closer to the State Aquatic Centre and the largest Westfield/ Shopping Centre in our state is astounding. I still don’t know/understand why they couldn’t/didn’t either extend it some 500m and/or acq...

[U/C] Re: West Franklin | 54m & 64m | 17 & 20 lvls | Apartments

So just to be clear, there is still going to be at least one more tower facing Franklin St but a tower on the Morphett St & Franklin St corner looks unlikely (if it is community open space)?
