Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Maybe they plan to tunnel under the runways! My estimate is it’s only 1km from the end of Richmond Rd to the other side of the terminal (the old airport area).

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Should they leave room now (for say 20+ years time) for a direct express underground train to/from the cbd?

Re: SA Economy

True Rhino but to balance it, Labor did have 16 years/4 terms.. So for a fair comparison maybe compare either against Labor’s first term (or even 25% of what they achieved overall) against Marshall’s first term (with 3 years still to go). Thoughts how they would compare?

Re: SA Economy

I don’t know if it’s being prudent or the state Govt hasn’t got the money but I think that this Govt is lacking a big project/plan or even a big announcement from Marshall. There are trickles of economic activity but nothing I consider really bold - a legacy project if you will. Labor gave us AO and...

The next key decision is how it will be built ie tunnel vs overpass/underpass [after the studies/costings] is promised to be by the end of this year by Marshall.

I would be curious to know how much of it is airlines putting up staff ie pilots/hostesses or paying for travellers forced to stay overnight due to airline issues.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

Maybe they thought the shotcrete (with no reo etc) would suffice as they were putting pre-cast panels in front if it? Anyone know if this has been the standard treatment for T2T and our other motorways?

Is this graffiti council responsibility or DTPI?
To ML69, I agree. I’m surprised developers for either sites (or even the council) hasn’t requested/demanded it from the Govt. I mean hundreds of millions have been spent and the Govt can’t even bother doing a decent station upgrade.

The site you are referring to is Comfort Inn which was sold to a Chinese Investor [in Dec 18 for $11.6m] who intends pressing ahead with the project. Btw, The Watermark was recently bought and is owned by ALH [Woolworths/Mathieson].

Shotcrete is most effective when used in conjunction with rock or soil anchors. So that’s the area I would be looking at to see if it was adequate & done correctly.
I compare what’s happened to the icing of a cake shearing off from the alcohol soaked sponge.

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

Pretty sure all the surrounding shotcrete would need to be ripped out. I expect the soil/walls would show a loss of bearing capacity as the water has de-stabilised it. They may need to re-engineer the section to fix/stabilise the soil and see also if any water effects to the foundations. Ideally the...
