Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Here's a list of level crossings that should be removed sooner rather than later, based on a quick Google Maps scan. Removing these crossings will improve safety, efficiency, pedestrian movements, access and interchangeability. Where located close to a station, grade separation projects can include...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Another Bunnings is being built at Glynburn Rd, Glynde (Opp. Corner of Pasta Deli - but same side of road). The demo of all the buildings on the site have started. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this the site that Masters tried and failed to get development approval to build on? What changed?

It’s not bad and looks pretty decent in person but again, I lament the missed opportunity of what could have been.
I don't see how this is a missed opportunity when it has turned out better than half of the buildings that are going up in Adelaide at the moment.

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Just wondering if this would mean the definite end to the ability to ever bring back horse racing (even if a once off event every year)? I know they still do the polo there. This is an article below from 5 years ago where the Govt (Labour/Leon Bignell) was open to considering it & will we ever see ...

There's no reason that this wetland couldn't extend around that entire corner of the parklands.

I have emailed the city council about the tree and if they are replacing it soon. I will let everyone know if I get a response.

Sorry slightly off topic but please tell me they haven't already removed one of the new trees in Bank Street and not replaced it - I'm referring to the apparent tree stump in the bottom third of ChillyPilly's last picture. To confirm your worst fears, that's been gone for a while. Most probably col...

Sorry about the fuzziness, but it was taken through a rain spattered window.
Considering the method in which they are building this and that it's not that big of an extension, I'm surprised by the price tag of this development..

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Tonsley line doesn't need to be double track. What's the point of duplicating a line that not many people use anyway. Just cause a few gunzels said its a good idea? The money is better spent upgrading stations and working on other busier lines. Well that's the idea of extending it, mate, so tha...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Could be good to realign/straighten the section of road travelling to and from the bridge before doing any of this, considering the fertiliser facility was the only reason this road was curved in the first place. Would love to see Starfish take this site as well, considering they have an interest in...

What's the go with the facade upgrades to Rundle Square? This isn't going to become one of those things where the owners made a promise to lure a major tenant but then never actually do anything about it because what a shame if that does happen!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Dare I say it, the airport component of Globelink was just a fluffy addition to make the whole thing look more impressive than what it actually was. The important parts of it are/were the road/rail freight diversions out of suburban Adelaide. When you consider how many road projects are taken to sta...

All the scaffolding and temp fencing is being removed in angus St this weekend.
Any word on an opening date? For some reason late-June comes to mind but surely they're not ready to open with internal fit-outs etc?

He's talking about actual security, physical security between the hotel and the oval it self. He has no idea about the topic but he is trying to use it as a point to argue against the development. It's a non-issue. There's stadiums with hotels attached to them already around the world. If security ...

[PRO] Re: Goodwood/Springbank/Daws Road Intersection

There is an former IGA closeby thats still up for lease If it's the one I'm thinking of on Goodwood Rd just down the road from this intersection, that is now an Asian supermarket and has been for over 6 months. That former IGA is a sizeable distance from this intersection and further to that, the A...
