[PRO] Re: Central Market

Going against the grain here, because there has to be at-least one person who is critical of these proposals (even if the do look pretty good). It is an incredible design and proposal but the airspace is way too tall considering what it's next to, for instance, the upper part of the podium takes awa...

Those red gums really do look shabby.
I'm usually all for preserving trees but there is no uniformity to any of the trees along this section of the river. Not like it use to be with the oak trees that once lined the banks.

Re: COM: [Keswick] World Park 01 | $150m

This is most likely what it will be. From todays online Advertiser...... Disaster-proof emergency services HQ based in Keswick to begin construction in April 2020 The MFS, CFS and SES will all operate out of the same earthquake-proof building when construction is completed in time for the 2021 fire...

[PRO] Re: 80 Currie Street | 137m | 34 levels | Office

If Adelaide is to have a central business district not just a central residential district, then some of the tall buildings need to have offices in them. Any new tall building is going to have more floor space than the building it replaced. For the business side of Adelaide to grow, it has to have ...

[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Was hoping this might get better as it progressed... but it's awful. Just awful. This is our main state tennis stadium ffs. Looks more like a local suburban leisure centre constructed by the local council. It may look sh*t currently but this is a stop gap solution. Just imagine the two stands remov...

I hope the restoration involves a new paint job for the facade, the mustard yellow is telling of the last upgrade (1970s) like the upgrade to Flinders Street Station in Melbourne they should ditch the mustard yellow for a lighter sand-stone colour.

Government should do more to move fringe offices from Greenhill, Fullarton rds etc to move to city. Offer some sort of incentives eg no stamp duty, rate free periods etc How is that good for the state? Not necessarily good for the state, but will help centralise business and free up existing buildi...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I hope it works and becomes a National and International draw card & success. However my concern (and maybe it’s not a fair comparison) is comparing it with something we already have, Tandanya. I am not knowledgeable enough to comment on it but does anyone know how successful that is and how many v...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I've rather warmed to the idea of an Australian Aboriginal gallery. A contemporary gallery looks great on paper, but how many like it already exist in Australia and the world? At least with this gallery it achieves two things: 1. it's a national/international first in terms of how it will represent ...

I believe the question is what's the heritage or characterful façade here for you to have potentially been protective about? Mate, we've all seen the parkland preservation group in action, some people will find merit in the worst of shit. Thankfully I draw a line somewhere and this falls on the 'I ...

Can confirm, demolition is underway, most of the inside is now rubble. Good riddance! Most of you know how protective I am of heritage and preserving existing facades etc rather than replacing character with shit, but I've hated the building on this site for years, glad to see it go. ??? Isn't this...

Why not an artwork that’s more representative of music and the performing arts? It is a theatre after all
Agreed. Something like what they painted on the side of the Capri would have been more fitting.

Re: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | Mixed Use

Nah, South Australia doesn't need any more dodgy servos. South Australian, family-owned businesses are "good" in some contexts. We seem to like buying food and wine from them, why don't "we" like buying our fuel from them? There's some pretty dodgy people running petrol stations in Adelaide. I work...

I know the Maj is a heritage listed building, but I think that side wall would look better with a massive art mural on it.
That's what they're doing...
