[APP] Re: 269 North Terrace | 118m | 36 Levels | Student accommodation

I hope this gets a redesign and height taken away, not because it'll obstruct views for Adelaidean but because it might mean a better design that fits around the $60m budget. Having a look at the companies other property, their high-rise accommodation interstate is much nicer that what they're offer...

Can there be two? Advocates for national Indigenous gallery in Central Australia miffed that after 2-and-a-half years of consultation, the Feds gazump them to fund Adelaide gallery that started planning only last month: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-03-20/south-australia-nt-compete-funds-nationa...

Two men applying the treatment to the final bit of blank western wall. Same shade of grey, but cleaner.

Is that a mistake on the far right side where the panels are not zig zag? Same mistake I was talking about at the begging of December. It's a pretty epic fuck up. I'll stand corrected otherwise, but I'm not sure that's a mistake. Isn't that where the UniLodge branding is going? (similar to how they...

Pandora in Rundle Place is boarded up now. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190319/f612200005dc657cc1cad152c7819d87.jpg Top Teas look like they are taking a unit in there too. The open air carpark on the corner of Pulteney and Angas St is listed for sale in The Advertiser business section today, so hopefully it's sold and developed. Have always felt that Peregrine Corporation should buy this site and either build their new HQ here (instead of on the Parade), or build the...

Bring back the grand central hotel. http://www.adelaideheritage.net.au/all-site-profiles/grand-central-hotel/ As car access would no longer be possible on Rundle Street East itself, the Rundle Street ACC owned UPark car park would need to be closed, demolished and replaced with a suitable ‘statemen...

Fark. The glazing on this building is amazing. I just wish they had kept the original podium design, sandstone finish.

Amazing! Probably one of the better coffee shop franchises going around (if their Myer Centre store is anything to go by...)

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

I see the Rosemont closing down as a good opportunity for something new. It's in a prime position for a hotel or a new night club. Lease has now been taken over by GM Hotels Group (which runs a bunch of pretty average suburban pubs e.g. The Tower etc) to be relaunched as 'The Rosey' next month. Mod...

For me the Stamford stands out as a shocker on that side of town. But at-least the Stamford is old enough that it's probably due for some kind of a makeover. Unfortunately with a lot of the aforementioned buildings, they're mostly new and won't need a re-treatment for some time. I actually find it ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

:wallbash: ? What's wrong with this idea? Sure, it might bring more cars into the city, but until private vehicles are matched with adequate/reliable public transport, I don't think we can expect people to go without. And this is coming from someone who rides a bike, rides on PT and wants to see an...

I've been told an elevated superway anywhere between Torrens and Darlington has been categorically ruled out at all levels (due to noise pollution first, and residents fighting "visual pollution" second), and tunnel or trench are the only options that will ever be considered, fwiw Is Cross Road the...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

There was already a plan drawn for this leading up the last state election (by someone involved or formerly with the DPTI), the plan involved building a viaduct through Brown Hill Creek etc from Mitcham Station and then taking the line up the centre of the freeway once you hit the section of the fre...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Ten years to plan a suitable replacement. By that point, hopefully, Adelaide's retail sector will have firmly sprawled out of Rundle Mall and further into surrounding streets. In which case, I can see this being an ideal location for a mixed used retail precinct. Engineering these days would allow f...
