Well I'm surprised that the developer didn't wait for the neighbouring block to hit the market before they did anything with this site.

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Yeah, teasing projects for a Com Games bid that we won't necessarily win. Not to show a lack of enthusiasm but if a part of this package for our bid includes rail extensions, sporting infrastructure upgrade etc, if we lose that bid, none of these things will happen.

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

So a $40m price tag is too much for something that has already been promised and there is a lot riding on this project going ahead meanwhile the government have promised $98m for an upgrade of the Magill Road/Port Rush Road intersection which is total funding overkill.

Drill a tunnel through the hill from the lower arrestor bed on the South Eastern Freeway, to come out on the North South Motorway on the vacant land near Ackland Street, perhaps with incentives for Olympic Industries and Parmalat to find new sites. there aren't many dairies in that part of Adelaide...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I don't see how freight can avoid the South Eastern Freeway? Won't there need to be a productive route to the airport too (that's at West Beach, not the Monarto fantasy)? I think it's more avoiding the lower end of the South Eastern Freeway, if trucks turn off at bypass that goes through Monarto (a...

Two things. First, I pray to that that isn't the final design. Second, I hope Labor give the Libs hell for the final costings of this considering how much shit Labor coped from the Liberals over the final price tag of the NRAH.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Here's a list of level crossings that should be removed sooner rather than later, based on a quick Google Maps scan. Removing these crossings will improve safety, efficiency, pedestrian movements, access and interchangeability. Where located close to a station, grade separation projects can include...

Another Bunnings is being built at Glynburn Rd, Glynde (Opp. Corner of Pasta Deli - but same side of road). The demo of all the buildings on the site have started. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this the site that Masters tried and failed to get development approval to build on? What changed?

It’s not bad and looks pretty decent in person but again, I lament the missed opportunity of what could have been.
I don't see how this is a missed opportunity when it has turned out better than half of the buildings that are going up in Adelaide at the moment.

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Just wondering if this would mean the definite end to the ability to ever bring back horse racing (even if a once off event every year)? I know they still do the polo there. This is an article below from 5 years ago where the Govt (Labour/Leon Bignell) was open to considering it & will we ever see ...

There's no reason that this wetland couldn't extend around that entire corner of the parklands.

Sorry slightly off topic but please tell me they haven't already removed one of the new trees in Bank Street and not replaced it - I'm referring to the apparent tree stump in the bottom third of ChillyPilly's last picture. To confirm your worst fears, that's been gone for a while. Most probably col...

Sorry about the fuzziness, but it was taken through a rain spattered window.
Considering the method in which they are building this and that it's not that big of an extension, I'm surprised by the price tag of this development..
