[COM] Re: UC: Torrens Footbridge | $40m
Like how do they make up this stuff, $500,000 that must to at least 10 full time cleaners, I think I for $500,000 I would be happy to toss in work and do it myself ( I need more exercise )

Nothing like combining both footbrawl and the LeCornu site to stir up some controversy

[U/C] Re: SWP: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | 20m | 6lvls | Mixed
I read recently that with the success of the Adelaide Oval the Crows are now possibly willing to move from West Lakes to the city, wouldn't the old Le Cornu site, obviously with other development (apartments or hotel above) lend its self for a new Crows or Power HQ. Perhaps combined with a relocated...

Yes it makes you wonder !Waewick wrote:I find it bizzare that this state government is happy to tax car parking to improve PT. But won't allow tolls for better roads.
Shows how stupid they really are I guess.

Re: The SA Politics Thread
All for a far more rigorous selection and re selection process for candidates on all sides of politics, more can do people please! Good to see everyone elected on both sides given a job to do in addition to their electorate duties. Too many not doing anything to contribute for years.

[COM] #Vis: Festival Plaza Redevelopment $800m
Following on from the festival theatre comments on the Torrens footbridge thread- This is one of Adelaide's iconic structures but I think a lot of the problems stem from both poor maintenance, and lack of respect for the original building, the first major stuff up was enclosing of the original cover...

[COM] Re: U/C: 1 King William St | Facade Upgrade | $12m
I saw the new façade yesterday, and all I can do is shake my head in disappointment. They have turned an elegant and competent example of 60s architecture into something that resembles a prop from a Soviet pop music video. Yes especial the wavy white bit around the top, it must just block the views...

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
Anyone know what is the longer term plan for the 91 Hutt street site, the two story red brick building was demolished several months ago and the site turned into a car park, I had thought I read last year the new Adelaide planning guidelines prohibited demolishing buildings for open air car park use...

Instead of collecting this $26m annual levy, the State government could simply adopt the same model the Abbott Liberal government is using on the states: - just cut $26m of State funding to the Adelaide City council and let them work it out. Lol, but seriously there must be a better way of collectin...

Adelaide's Dangerous Roads
I often wonder why many cyclist are all over the road and don't actually use the marked bike lanes, and if they do, they often use the edge closest to the traffic? My only thought would be other than being pigheaded is a fear of punctures as there's often a lot of crap on the road edges? And why wou...

Don't like it at all. One of the better facades in the city, a lovely marble has been turned into a modern yet cheap looking plastic toy. Classic and classy replaced with tacky and average. Wrong type of building to try and modernize to be honest. Have to agree, many more buildings in Adelaide I wo...
