Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

The Indaily article mentions stage 2 of the goodwood upgrade with a pedestrian overpass. Will be interesting to see what that involves.. I always thought that if they ever did a pedestrian overpass with the tramline at Goodwood they'd include a platform and make a train/tram interchange station out ...

Re: City West Train Station

One thing I've thought of is moving the Mile End station a little North to here:

Gives access to the West of the Hospital, still close enough to Temple College, access to Bonython park and easy to change between train and tram...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

I use Clarence Park semi regularly as well, and would definitely say it's one of the more used stations.

Perhaps the post about everyone using Emerson is misguided because generally the trains that stop at Emerson skip Clarence Park and vice versa?

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

There were also delays on the East Avenue crossing this week.

Also this morning's Noarlunga train that arrives Adelaide at 8:58 was cancelled because of signalling issues. Not sure what the issues are

Re: Tram Signal Priority

Hook turns are the obvious solution here.

The only issue would be whether Adelaide drivers can handle them, but they aren't that hard once you're used to them. If we're going to expand our tram network as part of the new transport plan, drivers might as well start getting used to them.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

Just sent some tweets to Andrew Southcott and he confirmed the $500m for South Road is unchanged, and that their policy is that public transport should be funded by state governements. Like Shuz says the funding for the Tonsley line in 2013/14 Financial Year is unaffected, just the funding going for...

Surely you can't cancel a project that is already half way though construction?

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw

I'm always surprised by how much better the traffic is during school holidays. Driving from the hills it can comfortably save me 20 minutes on the morning drive. Not having people commuting to Uni, and having a lot of people go on holidays (the car parks are never as full in school holidays) makes a...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

Busses are pretty quick along grenfell / currie already, making it public transport only is hardly necessary.

Rather than having busses running through the city (which they already have), we should look at more loop busses like the 100 bus route.

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Technically speaking, the centre of the field is just as far away at an AFL game as at a soccer game. In fact, at a soccer/rugby game the opposite boundary is actually closer to the spectator than the opposite boundary at a cricket or footy game. I know a rectangle doesn't really work in an oval bu...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

I certainly would have liked to have seen a design that better incorporated the hill - I always wanted something more like Durban's world cup stadium, only with a bigger gap at the end: http://www.architravel.com/files/buldingsImages/bulding739/Moses_Mabhida_Durban_Stadium_4.jpg Problem was the West...
