Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I think I've heard gates have been stuck down twice lately. Was that because of the test running on the Gawler line, or completely unrelated issues with the standard gauge, or problems with the interface between the two? Which gates? Park Terrace I think. I recall it being somewhere in Salisbury, a...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

How much test running of trains is required on the gawler line? I live near the line and hear a train go by atleast once an hour from first thing in the morning to late into the evening every day. Just seems strange to me. I think I've heard gates have been stuck down twice lately. Was that because...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Possibly. Although the right turn to North Terrace was a daft idea, and they did kludge up the "too expensive" excuse. Proposing an extension from the Bot Gdns along East Terrace (connecting with the O-Bahn), Hutt St, Halifax to just West of King Wm St (or turning into King Wm and ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I thought the line was reconnected, but I could be wrong. "The Port lacks a solid connection" was referring to transport connections, the physical tracks were reconnected when the line was rebuilt after the original project was torn up. I understood the 'solid connections' part, but was m...

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

So a bit of rain this morning and the entire motorway is down to 80km/h. Man do i hate variable speed signs. It was actually slower than port Wakefield road which has a fixed speed limit of 90km/h for the majority. So I've come up with a very simple solution Summer = Motorway Winter = Port Wakefiel...

The developers never said it was already "complete". That was only Sensational Adelaide. The developers said it was "open to traffic".
I know, but it had been slated for December 2019 completion from the beginning of the project

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

60km/h speed restrictions at north and south ends are getting a bit old now. Maybe the southern end is warranted, but the northern end is a joke. 'complete' December 2019? It's April 2020 and still not complete

First decent crash on the NC, just south of Bolivar interchange, northbound. 20+min delays and no way of turning around or devouring. No Google maps traffic or VMS yet either

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

Speed limits on the Northern Connector will be lifted to 110km/h from about 11am tomorrow. some of the electric speed limit signs had 110 posted today on my drive home. One of the signs north of Bolivar changed from 80 to 110 around 4pm, but before I could even get to 110 it had changed back to 80....

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

Google Maps now features the NC, but updates are still required for the Southern and Bolivar Interchanges. Interestingly the northern expressway is still shown as the M20. When did it change to M2? Years ago, I remember them changing the signs. I think it might have been when the superway was being...

There is sign on port Wakefield road saying the Nexy off ramp will close permanently on the 16th of February. Unless im mistaken, I didn't see the word 'permanant' on the sign. I assume it's just a day closure to allow for tour busses for the open day to use the temp ramp to turn around My mistake,...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

The new WCR roundabout to motorway is bigger than the rest of the northern expressway ones, so I dunno why people are saying it's smaller. I saw a b double turning to go over the WCR bridge this morning, if I had time I would have followed him to watch him go around the roundabout. Any vehicles goin...
