It's about a year behind initial schedule. When they went on the market, they sold it with a early 2020 completion date (and late 2019 if everything goes better than plan). Since last year they project completion late 2020 with settlement either in 2020 or start of 2021. Delay was mostly start of th...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Since the change in government last year we have had no new large apartment buildings start pre sales that i can think of. I assume this is because of the now killed off stamp duty concession. Once Realm, Adelaidean and Luminesque are complete over the next 12 months there is nothing else in the pi...

[APP] Re: 274 North Terrace ~55m | 16 Levels | Hotel

ok, so I have no idea how these things are negotiated, but I can't imagine this can be built without using space on the sidewalk and Frome street to stage things. So if that thing is under construction and the student housing tower on the opposite side of the street as well, is there anything left o...

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

I will be astounded if they complete a 148 room hotel in 11 months. Isn't it practically two 74 or so room hotels (with a small connecting lobby in the middle). I don't know that much about construction, but since there isn't really much in terms of siteworks, no digging, minor demolition, etc, and...

I wonder if this means the project is being relaunched. Application Number: DA/376/2019 Type: Complying Lodged: 22/05/2019 Location: Echelon Display Suites, BF-1F 314 King William Street, ADELAIDE SA 5000 Description: Display Showroom Refurbishment. that's not the actual project site, it's the show...

Does anyone know if the Caltex gas station on Hutt Street is renovating, closing for good, or getting turned into something else ?

It has been fenced and they are removing the shop furniture, etc

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

In total, it's quite an impressive list of hotel brands coming to Adelaide in the next coming years... So what are we up to now: UC: Sofitel -- Currie Street Crowne Plaza -- Frome Street Hotel Indigo -- Market Street Casino -- Railway Station Potentially happening: Adelaide Oval Westin -- GPO Park ...

Assuming the TRYP branding on the renders imply that they have a hotel chain committed.

43.5m tall and a fair bit less controversial than the Pirie Street proposal.

Are the plans online yet? I couldn't see them on the SCAP site.
yep, are online.

Personally, I think this looks pretty awful, maybe due to the essentially blank North/South walls.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

(and that doesn't even require going for the more compact formats you can find in some European cities) I love the self serve express coles/woolies/independents in Melbourne (I assume they have them north of the border too) although I'm not sure if Aldi has a comparable format anywhere in Aus. Even...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I think there would be a lack of suitable space in the CBD for an Aldi. They are more suburban in nature, I don't think any of the other CBDs in Australia have one. Melbourne does. Canberra does as well If you have a regular Coles or Woolworths in the CBD, then you can have an Aldi as well (and tha...
