“Upmarket” [emoji23] Upmarket for many students is buying the fancier brand of instant ramen for 80 cents a packet instead of the 40 cent ones, it's all relative Actually, I'd guess that for most rooms the sqm rent will be higher than in the new next door building.... I make it 16 stories if you allow 2 stories behind street level scaffolding. note this picture is from 3 weeks ago.
I guess they could have a 'mezzanine' floor, are those counted as a separate level?

what height would the core be sitting at right now? I'm thinking around 50? in meters? It should be about floor 28/29, so that means it's closer to about a 100m ok, I based my figure on the bus being around 2.5m. to be 100m would require around 40 buses stacked on top of each other. I have no idea ...

If you feel that why, why are you on this forum? I'm here because I live in Adelaide, am interested in city development, construction and architecture, and I'm in this particular thread because I have a vested interest in the building.... to bring the discussion back to a little bit more relevance,...

Building designs and finishes of a high quality and standard shouldn't be exclusive to location. The location (property value) is fundamental to the choice in design quality and materials.... Thats why there's third world countries and cities with better looking towers then most of what goes up her...

We haven't been told otherwise. I believe the signage removal from the Corebox happened because the size of the box changed when they reached the apartment floors and they probably decided that it's not worth the cost to put up new signage up for the remainder of the time.

It's why I can't understand why we keep getting proposals for cheap student apartments instead of higher-end apartments along North Terrace. It's literally the best orientation in the city and can't be built out -- you could charge a premium for the view! you might be suprised by the prices these s...

Re: VIS? New SA Pathology HQ, 14,000sqm

FWIW the Adelaide Uni AHMS building is a bit over 40,000m2, so whatever gets built will be about 1/3 the size of that. Ideally it should probably only be 2-4 stories tall so that analysis instruments can all be co located on the same floors for automated processing. I assume they can't fit it into ...

Re: VIS? New SA Pathology HQ, 14,000sqm

Wasn't the proposed office building for the Heaven/HQ site roughly 14,000sqm? Kind of makes sense considering it has been decided the W&C Hospital will be next-door to the RAH and not opposite. Was there an office proposal, I only remember that Twin residential tower plan http://www.sensational-ade...

Re: VIS? New SA Pathology HQ, 14,000sqm

Great news. Also funny how quickly the Government’s privatisation agenda for them stopped when they proved how essential they are in recent times  just too much political headache and paperwork for the gain that would come out of it.... Now where do they find 14,000 sqm for space close to the ...

Re: [VIS] New Concert Hall

A better location for a concert hall then the festival plaza area would be the torrens parade ground. Demolish it all, build the concert hall and properly landscape and pave the surrounding area. NO, hands off the Torrens Parade Ground, its an important site thats used on Anzac Day etc. Honestly, R...

As for location, proximity to Adelaide Festival Centre or Her Maj are crucial IMO, with my preference being for the former .
I'm curious, why is that proximity to either of them essential?
