gotta love this back pedaling :applause:
Not at all. The extreme right of anything is the furthest right of that thing. But as others have said, you do you, I really don't care.

Re: The SA Politics Thread

Saying that someone is probably the extreme right member of federal parliament can also be construed as the furthest right. That's how I read it. ASIO might say that Extreme right is fanatical, but I don't believe we have any fanatics in our federal parliament.

[U/C] Re: Victoria Tower - 36 Grote Street | 123m | 35 levels | apartments

Aside from being a cool project, I love that this blocks the GDH building behind it. Hoping they can bulldoze it and build something special there #dreamsarefree I actually like the entrance to Grote St from Victoria Square, with the Hilton on the south side and the GHD on the north. The buildings ...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

So a dogleg is removed, but a new signalised intersection will replace it at Price Street. So there will still be two intersections within 270 metres, plus Furness Ave a short distance south. This might need to go back to the drawing board. Yes, that was my thinking too. Perhaps the Price St lights...

Re: The Federal Politics Thread

So do you believe that every new migrant is a doctor/builder/ childcare worker/ aged care worker etc? Can you tell us how many of each we need? And how many of each of the 500,000-600,000~ migrants in the last 12 months fall into those categories? Reality is most are unskilled/uneducated and end up...

Re: The Federal Politics Thread

Skilled migration for areas we say we are short of should be a net benefit - doctors, nurses, aged care, child care, building trades etc. Migrant visas can have conditions about living/working in areas of need/shortage. We can't force the current citizens/residents to move away from their friends, ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The suburbs of northern Melbourne stop 22,23 kms north of the CBD but Adelaide seems to want to challenge Perth for the title of "Longest lowest density suburban sprawl in the world". Mickelham is are 40ish km away from the cbd. What decade are you getting this 22km figure from? South you...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

So let me get this straight, Mount Barker has a population of 40,000 and the state government have rebuked every suggestion of an electrified rail service to the centre, meanwhile Kouts is talking out of his arse about a possible rail service to Riverlea, so long as the population of the area grows...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

Considering that Balhannah and Hahndorf are at very similar elevations above sea level, that is a very steep railway from Bridgewater to Hahndorf.

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

Rail access to Hahndorf actually makes a lot of sense, so long as it is part of a bigger project to connect Mount Barker. The fact is that Hahndorf is a major tourist destination, and the flow of people to and from the town are far in excess of what you would expect considering its relatively small...

The former Ambleside railway station was about 3km from the centre of Hahndorf, so not quite to Hahndorf, but not far off.
Not far off, and a park-and-ride at Ambleside may be good for passengers from Balhannah, Oakbank , Woodside and even Lobethal areas, if the service is fast enough.

Hmmm - Tom im pretty sure that Mt Barker is not within Metropolitan Adelaide
For all intents and purposes, it is, though.

It should be a fast train and should be going to Stirling, Harndorf, Mt Barker, Monarto and Murray Bridge.
There's no way you're going to get a train to Hahndorf mate!
