Re: Krispy Kreme opens on Port Road

It's been a while since I posted and was encouraged by the KK talk of relatives living in the Riverland (Berri, Renmark etc). A number of them have actually "done the run" last Saturday afternoon, where one is required to drive the 3 hours to Adelaide, wait another 3 in line and then 3 hou...

[COM] Re: U/C: Rundle Place Ben/Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 76

The retail is still due to open in March 2013. See this job ad for the CM position...

Don't know about the commercial side of the place though.

[U/C] Re: #COM: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $107 million

I was about to upload the attached flier which I picked up the last time I was at BV, but a quick google news search revealed something that's been debated on here and numerous facebook pages for a while now, though I am unsure of the reported professional's actual qualifications and experience to m...

[PRO] Re: #ONH: Westfield Marion Expansion | $280m | 150,000sqm

It's just pure greed on Westfields part. This is the behind doors opinion at several tenancies at Marion as well who are not happy about this. I will guarantee that the same people complaining about the lack of sales & foottraffic are the very same people who park as close to the front doors as...

Re: Urban sprawl engulfing Virginia growers

Part of the reason for the productivity being achieved by the Virginia-area growers is that it's the floodplain of the Gawler River with the resultant benefits of thousands of years of silt and nutrient deposits. Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm going from memory, but around Two Wells the soils turns ...

Re: New Retail in the CBD

Small correction to the article is that the Bondi store is not in a shopping centre - it's adjacent to Westfield Bondi, on land not owned by Westfield. Either way, it's a fantastic store, with 7m ceilings at the back and indoor trees with seating for the Apple fans to sit and test out the newest of ...

(Not) only in Adelaide

As I think many on this forum have said before, Adelaide isn't the only place in the world to suffer NIMBYs or 'impediments to progress'. Have a look at this article referring to, what I think is, a relatively attractive building and solution to the inherent problems of the site. Then read the comme...

Re: New Retail in the CBD

The Centre is owned and managed by CFSGAM (Colonial First State Global Asset Management) - the same crew who own and run Elizabeth, Castle Plaza and Chadstone (among many others). Myer is 'just' a tenant. Generally, naming rights in retail operate slightly different to normal commercial property in ...

[COM] Re: #ONH: Centro Arndale Redevelopment - $100m

The company formerly know as CER and CNP was essentially merged into one company, now CRF. Talking as someone who had CER shares (but didn't pay much attention to them), effectively what happened was that our CER shares were exchanged for shares in the new entity. I understand that those with CNP sh...

[COM] Re: PRO: 122 Grenfell Street | 59m | 17 Levels | Hotel

MAybe the reason for the 'safe' (some would say "Boring") facade is that the Devleoper saw the BS that went down with 123 Flinders Street. Make it simple and acceptable to Council and they have nothing to smack you with.

My Mother-in-law is going to wet herself when she finds this out :toilet: (apologies for the mental image).

@Nathan - not sure about the Adelaide one, but Collins Street Melbourne has a full showroom of pods and machines with lots of samples handed out, but no cafe as such.

Re: New Retail in the CBD

RE: Former Ed Harry's is definetly not an Apple as they demand that they have a minimum 15m wide frontage, amongst many other specifics. I know of someone who works in the industry who tried to get them to establish a store at Burnside Vilage and am told that they are - quote - "Absolute f***i...
