[APP] Re: 73-85 Pirie Street | 89m | 22 Levels | Office

Before anyone gets too upset, I recall reading in an article that Pelligra Group are planning on buying the Allianz building next door to this and demolishing that to make way for a large mixed use office/hotel development.

Not what most here would have been hoping for. Lets hope those artist impressions are miles off.
Those renders are placeholder images, the same ones used during the election.

[APP] Re: 51 Pirie Street | ~110m | 28 Levels | Hotel

Not related to this site, but I saw this in an article about the developer of the Lionsgate Project at Elizabeth and thought it would fit well here. While Whyalla fits the Pelligra template of investing in low-key, industrial development - he is working on seemingly no end of industrial parks and sh...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Do we really need to have that many tram lines though? Just look how the last extension went, over 100 million for less than a kilometre of track and plagued by defects, plus would anyone other than inner-city yuppie urbanists take a tram all the way to outer harbour when there is a train that could...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Went past this site on the weekend and demolition has been completed on the old ED and is currently underway on the former entrance foyer. The demolition shouldn't be too extensive though, as the recent renders of the site indicate that the Theatre & Outpatient buildings are being kept but completel...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

If this tower does go ahead, my guess for the anchor tenant is Beach Energy. Could possibly also be GFG Alliance as there has been rumours of Sanjeev Gupta shifting most of if not all of GFG's Australian offices to Adelaide due to the proximity to major assets such as the Whyalla Steelworks, new mi...

Re: SA Economy

So, a bit of an update on the Port Pirie Smelter. I found this article in The Advertiser today, its paywalled but it basically says that Nyrstar has been bailed out for around $900,000,000 by their largest shareholder, Trafigura Group. However, if the smelter ever gets put up for sale my bet is that...

So, I'm not sure if this really means much but when I went past the old Club 199 today, the interior looked more wrecked than usual almost as if internal demolition works were taking place.

So heard a rumour tonight that a financial institution will be the head lease on this.

Needs at least 3 buildings worth of floor space.
You mean moving from 3 buildings, or anchoring 3 buildings?

Re: SA Economy

The most logical assumption is that Sanjeev Gupta will buy the smelter if Nyrstar goes under, however there may be some other companies interested such as Glencore, South32 ,Vale or possibly OZ Minerals. As SBD said, it would be good if a South Australian company like Hillgrove or Terramin could buy...
