Re: News & Discussion: Cycling

There are still ongoing issues with pedestrians using the dedicated cycle way in Frome St. Not only office workers during the week, but casual strollers on weekends and lately I witnessed women pushing prams. Often with two or more people they block the entire cycle path thoroughfare. Signage is cle...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

From Evan Knapp - Executive Officer - SA Freight Council the other month in SAFC newsletter: Executive Officer’s note: Globelink 2 years on While it might seem like just the blink of an eye ago, Globelink was first proposed by the (now) Marshall Liberal Government 2 years and two months ago. A lot ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Sounds like our main infrastructure need is fast road access to Outer Harbor and the Airport. Which the North-South Motorwsy delivers. However a fast SE Freeway to N-S Motorway connection will become critical once the N-S Motorway is complete.
Totally agree – a NS MW to SE FW link ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

A second airport dedicated to freight is not supported by SA export data by $$$ value. Cant see Infrastructure Australia given it much priority. SA exports are down to 2.25% of Australia’s exports by value and very little of that is air freighted in dedicated cargo planes. Main SA exports by value a...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I got the information third hand from a source who was present when Steven Marshall made the comment along the lines of ‘its makes sense to extend the tram to Adelaide Oval’. I am just the messenger. As I did not hear it directly myself, I treat this as a 'rumour'. I interpreted this as being in as...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

A rumour circulating during the week suggests that Adelaide will likely go ahead and bid for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. As the host city will be decided in September this year by the committee, and Adelaide is the preferred candidate already, we have to assume there is now a real chance of being s...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

How far away is a tram to North Adelaide? This is my view to create some discussion. What is known so far? The State Liberal Party has made this one of their key infrastructure projects for further investigation. Liberal party members that have an invested interest in the Adelaide Oval hotel proposa...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

There will be another debate if the Adelaide Crows take over the Aquatic Centre, rebuild & expand it to make it their HQ, Club and training grounds. Personally as a rate payer of ACC I would be all for it, increased activity for North Adelaide, better use of the area than today and probably be bett...

[U/C] Re: 202 Tynte Street (Channel 9 Site) | ?m | 6 Levels | Hotel

Tynte Street was totally resurfaced with new asphalt between O'Connell St and Wellington Square just over a week ago, I was there a couple of hours ago and the new street surface has been dug up to put new services in for this development. I would have thought better communication between ACC works ...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

So getting hands on the actual funds is a long way off? If SA can’t get funding sorted for this project in a timely manner, how does the State Liberal party think they are going to get the enormous amount of funding required for their pet Globelink project? BTW the first two stages of the Globelink ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The site doesn't seem like it would be big enough for a decent aquatic center. The site looks to be about half the size of the North Parklands aquatic centre (without parking). The swimming pool would need to be upstairs from the diving pool (or vice versa). Either way would make for some "interest...
