Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

My viewpoint on the redeveloped AO has never changed, everything that was done in the upgrade I am supportive of except the missing northern stand to complete the stadium. It has always been my opinion that in the current form the stadium looks aesthetically unbalanced and mismatched at the northern...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

Incorrect. Well this discredits any of your other remarks about Adelaide Oval immensely. Incorrect because the statement made was incorrect. The SA Govt GF bid was for two scenarios (1) with crowd capping and (2) without crowd capping, Perth Stadium was still the preferred venue on commercial terms...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

As Patrick alluded - the maximum ground capacity is completely irrelevant in this decision as in SA the crowd is currently limited to 20,000. The Grand Final went to WA because they do not have the same capacity restrictions as SA - this is a product of the COVID situation and current health direct...

Re: Adelaide Oval Expansion

This is such a dead/boring discussion. Really don’t understand why it pops up so often. This has been thrashed out previously when I raised this a year or so ago and most people on this forum still didn’t get it even when the facts were laid bare, and the discussion thread become offensive and aggr...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Maybe Bob if you can detail your alternative suggestion [ie a contemporary art gallery or whatever you think] so the forum can assess the merits of your proposal? So your thoughts on build cost, to buy "content", expected visitation numbers, your projected profit/return on investment etc....

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Ask the State Liberal party to release the detailed business plan to justify this project. Until then the project will be seen to be driven by emotion only. Why are they avoiding independent assessment? Where is the methodology that supports this will attract visitors to Adelaide in its own right? ...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Yes its true MONA came effectively via philanthropy, but what an impact it has had. For Adelaide to get the same impact, it too would have to offer something of a differentiator, as above and I think we agree, the current proposed concept will not satisfy that vision. The fact that the Liberals are ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

If Flinders Uni are proposing to be the anchor tenant, and propose to have naming rights, I wonder how many floors they plan to take up?

Can you give us a better clue without putting yourself at employment risk?

[CAN] Re: Hove Level Crossing Removal | $171m

If there was no political motivation involved, the priority of order for crossing alterations/upgrades should be determined by analysing the combination of road traffic volumes and boom gate down time per location. If we were serious about having a bigger impact sooner.

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I have had concerns for some time that the business case for the Aboriginal Gallery doesn't stack up - I am struggling to see what the Adelaide offering will put forward that is a differentiator to the WA and NT proposals, also as Aboriginals were not one nation when Europeans arrived, rather they w...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I imagine Flinders Uni will be going for 'naming rights' for the building if they are planning a significance presence here, having a lit logo on the building top would be prominent in that location.

[CAN] Re: Hove Level Crossing Removal | $171m

To be realistic, (rather than practical or logical), I think we all know that the next level crossing project(s) announced before March 2022 will be politically motivated - either in a safe Liberal seat or a marginal seat where this sort of action might tip the extra few hundred votes over needed t...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Amendment has been lodged to change part of the use to education establishment. I think that confirms flinders uni as the tenant. Having the new direct rail link in place between Flinders and ARS has made this decision easier for Flinders Uni to go ahead with their long plan of establishing a major...
