Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Fun fact: Flexity Trams have "Botanic Garden", Citatis have "Botanic Gardens" on their destination board :?

Also, there will be a live stream on our Facebook page shortly with the new East End section.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

What an utterly redicilous way to launch this long awaited project. No decency and respect to the community. Was there even an official launch or did they just hit the start button?

However, it's good to finally see it in operation.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Before electrification, Adelaide had 70 of the 3000-series railcars and 29 of the 2000-class railcars, a total of 99. When electrification of the Noarlunga Line was announced, a total of 50 or so rail cars were purchased, intended to replace the 2000-class and provide 21 extra rail cars. The extensi...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Is there any info on what electric trains they plan to buy for the Gawler line? It will go out for tender hopefully, so hopefully this time they will be of better quality compared to last time when there was (allegedly) no open tender. Has there been issues with the last lot for Seaford? Yes, first...

Hopefully the demand will be there for them! I'd expect this one to be done in stages to make sure the market isn't flooded.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Depends on the area... Some heritage zones should have a height cap so they retain their heritage character. The debate should be able which areas they should be.

The IGA on north terrace has closed down. It has probably struggled recently due to RAH moving. What, where they offering deals to get your appendix removed if you spend $100 or more in store? There's a tonne of residents on their door step in the east end.. I think it was more of a case that it CO...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Looking at the design in the planning approval, I suspect the path could be removed and a second line added without rebuilding the bridge Why would you want to remove the walking and cycling path though? They are key parts of the project. You might also get engineering issues like they experienced ...
