Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

Oh wait a minute....reality at the door  [emoji38] Actually, solar and wind are the cheapest sources of electricity we have in this state. It's the gas and diesel generators (the latter which are use...

Yes, they will be. They were originally closing this month but they may have had their lease extended recently.

Re: Moving the airport to a less populated area

Looking at Google Maps, the flight paths at Boston don't seem to run as close to their cbd as is the case here. Isn't the orientation of the main runway here related to the sea breezes anyway? The orientation is sw-ne and is about 900m from the edge of the runway to the coast, but if you look at th...

Makes no sense. I guess we will have to wait until the timetables comes out... Could it be trains will be cut back to hourly on weekday interpeak? That would allow about 12 services each way each weekday to be reallocated to evening and weekend services? Added to the 44 new services this totals 104...

A double-decker cut & cover tunnel might work, but I expect will still require the removal of at least one side of houses & businesses along South Road. Any other cut & cover or trench model would likely involve at least both sides along South Road, and all the noise that would create among local r...

Like most DPTI projects in SA, this one is going at snails pace. Quite possibly the most inefficient department there is. This project was never intended to start before next year. Design work is well advanced here, expect more news on this in the next few months. They should bring in the Melbourne...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

Governments and businesses work on a model of economic rationalism, not nationalism. If it is cheaper to send the product to Melbourne than Adelaide then that's how it's going to work. If it was cheaper to send it to Adelaide then I'm sure they would. However, the cost to fix up the track to Bordert...
